'Went for an early morning ride in the yellow car (the Ferrari one). Got a picture of me in action (rare footage). The picture below will prove it. Then the wife gets in the driver's seat and we go for another ride (bummer, no camera). We were tooling up I-75 and noticed a bunch of state police cars out there pulling people over. Next thing we know WE are surrounded by them. NO worry, they gave us the thumbs up then scattered to do their work. WOW, what a relief.

'Ever been surrounded by the police before?

Cool photo! You're a lucky man!

Yes, I've been surrounded my police before.
I used to own a light brown '84 Fleetwood Caddy and so did another guy in my neighborhood who was the same age. He looked very similar to me. The big difference was that he was a fugitive and I wasn't.
One day when I was going to the Radio Shack down the street from my house, I noticed a guy looking at me weird in the parking lot. I just forgot about it and on my way home I was all of a sudden surrounded from every direction by undercover cop cars. Guns drawn, yada yada... They realized that I wasn't the right guy almost immediately, but they continued to harass me for a while longer.
Just one of my many wonderful experiences with cops.

I've been surrounded by the police on at least two occasions. Luckily, I too was in the right each time and suffered only a minor hassle.

You're a lucky man! I love the Enzo. And no, I've never been surrounded by police before. I don't know what I'm going to do if that happens.

When I was accused of evading the police I ended up getting surrounded. Maybe 5 or so squad cars ended up pulling me over... I was NOT in an Enzo however :)

yep....I was teaching stunt driving in a not-so-abandoned parking lot...and had the entire police department surrounding my car. Yet, somehow, I got off with a warning.

If it was private property, the police have no jurisdiction, unless the owner charged you with trespassing. It's the same reason you can't be charged with speeding on a race track.

    One time it was handy.

I was driving down an unlit but major road in the Alfa when some dweeb started tailgaiting with his high beams on. I waited for him to pass -- nothing. I slowed down, and he was right on my tail. I gunned it, and pulled out about 40 yards and slowed again. He pulled right up on the back again.

So then I gunned it, pulled out about 20 yards, braked down hard ...

... and pulled into the parking lot of the State Police barracks.

The dweeb that had been jerking my chain gunned it and ran off.
As he passed, I saw it was a county cop.

Unfortunately, that's not universally true - in many states and towns, the police do have jurisdiction in parking lots, because they are publicly accessible.

The language used in many states is that traffic laws can be enforced anywhere that is "frequented by the driving public", even if it is private property.

I remember when I was about 14 traveling with my Dad from Sacramento, CA to Salem, OR to my grandparents house in a newly acquired 911 SC. Near the border in California, Yreka I think we suddenly had two CHP's come up on us and pull us over. The made us get out of the car, hand on the hood and checked my Dad's ID and then let us relax. They said they were looking for a stolen car that matched the description. Scared the crap out of us!

Pulled out of my office in Phoenix and cut an Exploder off. He pulls up within an inch of my rear bumper (no exageration), while we were at a light. I pulled my 9 out and chambered it, then calmly laid down on center console . He was so close to me that he could see all this(I knew this). A few minutes later we were at another light waiting to get on the freeway. A cop blows by everyone on the shoulder and goes out into the freeway. I'm 2 or 3 ahead of the Exploder when the light signals my turn to go onto the freeway. I know the lights alternates every 5 seconds so that gives me about 10 or so seconds to get away from the guy. I go and see the cop had went to the inside medium which is like 5 lanes over. I get lucky and catch every break though rush hour and completly leave the truck behind. A couple of miles up I'm getting over to get on the 202E and that cop is almost right behind me. I freaking on how he did that because we were in rush hour and I caught every break for 2 miles! We'll whatever, no lights so I'm not worried. For the next few miles he follows me, yet stays back about 3 car lenghts. I pop the clip, eject round, re-insert round into clip, re-insert clip, re-holster and put back under seat.(Yes, legal in AZ.) I call wife to let her know if I don't call her in 15-30 minutes to get the bail money and find me. All of a sudden the lights come on and there must have been about 10 cop cars all behind each other, because then they start to spread out blocking all 6 lanes going East and stopping traffic behind them. I pull over and notice that I'm the only one on the freeway going East during rushhour! I'm ****ting myself, theres a wall of lights behind me with guns drawn. They put me though the whole hands up, right hand to open door, walk backwards to my voice, kneel down routine. Scratched the crap out of my Rolex throwing me down and cuffing me. Put me in car and asked if I knew why. I said yeah, because of the ******* in the Exploder that I cut off got pissed. We'll I was mostly right. Come to find out the guy had claimed me and some other car had been shooting at each other in traffic! Caller never said anything about what had really happened. Cops checked the weapon and scolded me for removing it from the holster. Said you are not allowed to remove from the holster, I said I only did it to let him know I was armed and to leave me alone. (Of course I left out the chambering part). Its not hard to see the weapon had not been fired( I always clean my weapons after the range). They removed all the rounds and through them in the hatch area and told me not to re-load untill I got to my destination and to have a nice day!

I have been surrounded by corvettes going down the freeway in southern California. They just wanted to look at the car. In 1988.
