I am going to be getting my F430 from MAG (Midwest Auto Group) in Ohio, hopefully in late March. They use a "dealer only" shop, Automotive Appearance Pros in Ohio, to do their clear bras. They come to the dealer to do the work. I do not know of any other place to get it done. I really hate to drive it back to my home in Pittsburgh (150 miles) without getting a bra before I start driving it. Has anyone heard of Automotive Appearance Pros in Ohio and know about the quality of their work? Al

They do the Lambos at Lambo of Ohio (if I am not mistaken). I just had my 07 Gallardo Spyder done last month - before they delivered it.

They did a better job than the company I used on my 04. They did a perfect job - you honestly cannot tell it has one - where the 04 was an "ok" job imo (can't remember the name of the company I used - but they were out of north central Ohio for the 04).

A lesson I learned from the last time with the 04. This time I did a full cover on the hood/front lid. I did the kit (where the clear bra goes about 3/4 of the way up)... It is very noticeable.. If you go all the way up - you cannot tell at all (if they do a good job). They have to custom cut the 3m material - since most kits just go a portion of the way up.

I did the full front lid, front head lights, front bumper, partial quarter panels on the front, and the lower part of the side of the car (the small section under the doors from the front tires to back tires).

I did not do the back tire/rear quarters - I did not do them on the 04 and I really didn't have any chips toward the rear.

The whole deal cost around 1400 if I can remember correctly. Would have been like 1800 if I did the rear quarters as well.

    Hope that helps,
    Rich

Thanks Rich for your advice. Appreciate it. Sorry, I was a little confused in your first paragraph. I just wanted to clarify that you did use Automotive Appearance Pros in Ohio for your current 07 Gallardo. I guess I could call the Lambo dealer and ask if they use that company if you are not 100% certain. Thanks, Al

I bought mine from MAG and they did a good job on the clear bra. No problems yet.

    My first paragraph was confusing...

Yes I did use them - which is who lambo of ohio used for my FY07 (at least I am 90% sure that is who they told me they used.)

I think there are only a few that do the high end luxury cars. I am sure they will do a great job. If in doubt - see if they can show you or send you high res photos of the front work they have done - typically if they do a poor job you can see it pretty easily.

Thanks Rich. I did call Lambo of Ohio today and they confirmed that Automotive Appearance Pros does their clear bras. The salesman that I spoke to said they do really nice work and they were completely happy with them. Thanks again. Hope you enjoy your new Lambo. Can't wait for my F430. Maybe my next one will be a Lambo. Al

I trust that Automotive Appearance Pros is not the same outfit Lambo Ohio was using last year at this time. Prior to picking up my 06 in February I was trying to decide who to do the work, their guy or a local fellow here in Indy. I saw a car that their guy had just been finished while it was waiting to be delivered. I pointed out numerous flaws - bubbles, ends peeling up, etc. - to the point where the Lambo sales manager called the clear bra company back out to redo the entire car. Easy decision - the local guy got the job.

100% agree with Rich on covering the entire hood - an absolute must do!

I too sometimes forget it's got film on the front end. You have to look real close at the corners of the front bumper to see any film edges. The 3M film has a slight bit of orange peel texture - which is in contrast to the "smooth as glass" paint finish on the Lamborghini. This would make the film very obvious if the hood was not covered in one piece.

There is another brand of film on the market that's considerably more stretchy - to the point where it can cover complex curved surfaces in one piece. No seams, no edges anywhere!

They switched last fall I believe. My 04 was done by the previous guys and they (as you mentioned) did a average to poor job. I think they got a lot of complaints and switched.

The new guys do a perfect job.
