JOE THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS WITH REGARD TO THE EXTRA CARS

I DO HAVE WHAT I GUESS TO ME IS A IMPORTANT QUESTION,

IF MY CAR IS IN FACT BEFORE THE CANNONBALL CAR AND HAS BEEN ROAD REGISTERED AND DRIVEN SINCE LONG BEFORE 1980, AND I HAVE BRAVO WHEELS, AND THE THING LOOKS LIKE A LOW RIDER, IS THERE ANY QUESTION MY CAR IS A S1 CAR IN EVERYONES BOOK?

OR IS THERE SPECULATION EVEN AMONGST EVEN THE FIRST 50 CARS, IF YOUR IN THE FIRST 50 SOME CARS ARE YOU SAFE?

IT IS LIKE THE OLD WENDY'S COMMERCIALS OF DAVE THOMAS, SCREW THE POLITICS "WHERE'S THE BEEF" ON THIS ISSUE

    MANY THANKS,

    ARTHUR

    Art,
With your CAPS it appears as if youre shouting! LOL.
Speculating without even establishing the chassis number is pretty pointless. In this case, patience is a virtue. Once you know the chassis number and establish it as a 1978 or 79 pre-Cannonball car, its definatley a Series One car, BUT, as I said in my post, the others have a valid point in deducing that the 1980 cars are S1 cars too, and without documentation otherwise, nobody can be proven wrong here.

    Joe,

Thank you for your response and comments.

I did not realize caps are translated as shouting.

Please excuse my ignorance of that.

As for letting me confirm the chasis number and let the facts lay where they may I agree that is a good idea.

In the interum I hope the eagles do well against the saints tonight as it will allow me the excuse to go home and get the VIN #!

    Many thanks,

    Arthur

    Arthur,

    Go home!...I mean...Go Eagles!

I think there are only 5 or so S1's in white with Bravos.

I believe they were all 79's

Hey Joe... were any of the 10 cars made in 78 white?

    Tony,
i think there are more than 10 1978 cars
and only 79 white bravos (there is also at least one later 400S in white with bravos put by the owner and not the factory)

Yes, that is David's car in Canada, it's an 80'.... but I mean factory white with factory bravo.

    Any 78 LP400S in white?

If not then white with bravo is a 79 only thing.

PS: what is the count of Bravo wheel cars from the factory by year 78 & 79? I thought is was 10 and 30....is it 12 and 31 or 14 and 29.... Joe?... Joe?

Haha, you see all the speculation you are causing Art. Take the redeye to Philly toninght and post the number tomorrow. "Enquiring minds want to know"

Tony, here is what I can glean from my notes:
    - 10 chassis numbers are ascribed to 1978, but in typical Lamborghini (almost-bankrupt) fashion, only 8 were completed that year.
    - My notes reveal one white LP400S finished at the end of 1978, but this is the first right-hand-drive car, built for an ex grave-digger named Roderick David Stewart (now CBE by the way). I have a picture of this car inside the factory taken in March of 1979, still not collected, together with 1120134, 1121030 and another un-identified LP400S Series 1 (black with white leather). I do not have the Rod Stewart S1 chassis number but the photographer was told "Eet eez forza Eenglish pop starr Rod Steewart!!" White with tan leather, right hand drive, bravos fitted, single Sebring mirror on the driver's door.
    - I know of about 4 more 1979 white cars such as the ex-Fred Johl 1121050 which belonged for a long while with George Stauffer, etc etc...

I thought my notes said 10 cars officially for 1978 (less were in fact completed as per my comments above) and 40-odd cars in 1979. BUT, dont hold me to ANYTHING as gospel where these LP400S S1 cars are concerned!! ;-)

Tony, we also wish 'you-know-who' in Europe would tell us the chassis number of his white/blue car you are so familiar with.

Hope I helped more than Ive hindered.

    Joe

Well then it seems 5 white LP400S series one cars left the factory between 1978 & 1979 that were white with Bravo wheels.

    1. Rod's right hand drive...........White / Tan
    2. George's ex 1121050............White / Black
    3. 1121054 destroyed...............White / Blue
    4. Arthur's car.........................White / White
    5. The one I'm trying to buy.......White / Blue with White inserts

All one of a kind with different interiors.

    Am I missing any Joe?

Unfortunately, that dealer gets in the way of himself selling anything.... maybe you can convince him since you speak Italian, but most I know in the USA have little time for "Primadonna tello" (as he is renowned).... there is always another car though.

Shhhh... I don't want to upset him.

That is why I'm not posting pictures he sent me of the car.

He said he would let me know in January if he will sell it and for how much.

I have heard that the copper car has moved on from its home in Ontario Canada (not too far from me) and is no longer in Canada. I don't know who has it though.
