r u kiddin' me? Put her in any other crowd as background and she'd fade away to nothing. She's the only girl in a sea of fat old guys surrounded by even bigger cars. and does she ever play it up. How much is an arm touch worth in the bidding game, or the whisper in the ear? bhaa.
I hear yah about the arm touching, hugging bit, it's kinda funny to watch the reactions of all the guys bidding on that stuff with her, and it works eh ?........but like cars, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I just think she has a gorgeous face....and...when she smiles I just go weak in the knees. She was a Playboy Playmate as well.
What happened to Alan De cadenet? As the cars changed over the years did they find his vast knowledge useless.
She does smile nice. Didn't know about the playboy thing. Maybe without the gawdawful suit jacket and surrounded by anything remotely attractive. As you can tell, I get hung up on her game. I was curious what her mental limit is to turn an arm touch into an ear whisper and a hug. $100k car gets a whisper, $500k gets a hug? A good exercise for the college students. seriously a playmate - month/year?
Yeah....really, it's true.....I don't know when however. They mentioned it on BJ a couple of years ago when viewers e-mailed questions asking who was the hot chick working the bidders. Couldn't find a list of the previous playmates of the official PB site though. Chicks in suits and ties work for me.........LOL !!! Wish ADC was back commentating as well.......
Anyone see the 356 Speedster replica that went for $40k? I didn't see anything that made it better than the ones you can buy for half that on E-bay. Why not buy a real 356, maybe even a nice cab?
I dunno - I don't see Amy listed; http://www.aeolia.net/playboy/playboy.htm Not under Sparks, Amy, or Assister - although Pamela Anderson sure had a run. ADC is great. Is anyone posting $ results online in near real-time?
Lot #96 : 1961 CHRYSLER 300G CONVERTIBLE WOW !! thats a hot car there. 140k is pretty high but those fins are incredible. Many people consider the 300 the first original american muscle car even though they were produced alot earlier. 375HP and 465 torque in a 61 american car ?? thats impressive that car is smoking. edit- call me crazy but i still think the super snake brings 15 Mil as i stated in the other BJ thread. there is just to much history involved. and its the only one left (2 made). plus Shelby had it for 40yrs. i just cant think of any other american car that has more history, tradition, rarity than this one. call me crazy but we will see.
LoL - sorry to disappoint, but I've got kids that like to use my computers. I had to Google for all sorts of combinations of Amy Sparks Assister Barrett Jackson and Playboy to try and find you some more suit and ties. back on topic - so no one's posting near real-time results? I refuse to turn on the TV.
Here is some info about Amy, no mention of her doing anything other then auctions as her history. http://www.auctioneers.org/aboutNAA/outstanding_auctioneers/iac_women_00.php
KDS I have been on the podium a bunch of times with Amy, she is cute but again that jacket hides the goods well. One of my best friends is the PR guy for B-J and i have sat down with her before sanz jacket. In person she is a sweetie but she is doubtful on Playboy. Couple of years ago... don't know but she is a really nice one. Now the last time I saw Craig Jackson he had two smokin hot spandex clad girls walking with him down the lanes at the Italiano in Monterey..... Brand managing i guess
I am totally amazed at the prices on the cars. Then you add on the 10% for the buyer and 8% for the seller. I get the impression that a lot of the guys don't even know what they are bidding on. Wait till the good stuff comes out.
I have to admit I am a little surprised the total sales are beyond the pace of lasts years sales at this given time so far. Could it be another record year? I suppose, as its on pace to better last year with the big days upon us. There is obviously a lot more people there that cant afford the six figure car than that can. You can see as the prices get higher they almost immediatly bail out. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Also does anyone else thing Craig should not comment on the cars while the cars are on the block. So many times he says oh this car is worth more. This car is higher than that. This car is a million dollar car. Now I know he is working for the seller too but to me it also seems like a huge conflict of interest. Of course he is going to say that about every car across the block should be more money becuase the more it sells for the more money he makes! And that means tons more money in his pocket so it seems a bit maybe unethical for him to comment during the live bidding, becuase its usually favoring him in the end.
I watched this for 3 hours last night and nothing sold there really hit me as a car I'd like to own......except for the 1975 Cadillac Eldorado convertible....white on red leather.......yeah baby !!!
Say, did you guys get a glimpse of that Soviet Union Cosmonaut Rescue Boat? It's supposed to be on the block Sat. @ 5PM. I'm not a huge boat fan, but this thing is unusual looking and pretty cool!
No, it's not the Amphicar. This thing is silver, looks almost like a swamp boat and actually hovers above the water surface. Very "Russian" looking. (and no, I haven't had one Spaten Optimator too many!) Ah...found it: http://www.barrett-jackson.com/carlist/cardetails.asp?In_AuctionID=221&In_LotNumber=1307
Lot #436. I MUST HAVE!!!! My father had a '67 Chevelle Malibu IDENTICAL to this. Everything down to the hubcaps. It's crazy how expensive these cars have gotten in the past 5-7 years. 5 years ago I could've had the Chevelle of my dreams for under $15,000, now I'd be lucky to get this one, or a '68 or '69 in great condition for under $35,000. Alan de Cadenet has been doing a series on ESPN covering the RM auction. Don't know how old it is though.
