Ok after changing plugs, wires, cleaning MAF, swaping out cats for test pipes, checking all connections on o2 sensors, my miss is still there.....This morning it started with a miss, then it cleared up for a couple of minutes...I went out for a test drive (no redline runs), and about half way through it was back, very audible miss (like it running on 7 cyls), loss of power etc. just as before....slow down light is flashing from start up(it started doing that when I unplugged one of the o2 sensors, and has stayed on sense.....anyone with anymore ideas???? thanks in advance...

one more thing...is it possible a dirty fuel injector is to blame? if so how do you clean them properly??

Check the crank sensor wires. That's what caused mine to misfire.

there are huge number of potential places to check, Your time in $. So just take it to a guy with and SD2 testor and pay the 75 bucks for him to finger the codes or use your OBD. Your OBD is most likely not detailed enough to find the miss but the sd2 will show it. Then you will be in the right direction to hunt within the fingered area the sd2 points you to.

I assume the cat ecu's are still hooked up, where are the crank sensor wires/unit located (i'm an airplane mechanic....you know simple systems!) and how is it cleaned...thanks....also the dealer is quite aways away, so I will keep searching till i fix it or really get tired of trying...

So that's your problem you are over qualified. You need to get down to the level of a Ferrari engineer and drink a bottle of wine before you trouble shoot. Try freshening every connector including the crank sensors and the ones that go into the fuel rail and it's injectors. It sound more like you have a wiring problem which is typical of Ferrari's. Don't you just laugh at the ferrari connecotors? They are nowhere near aircraft quality but the low bidders sure are happy.

This problem seems to be coming and going with respect to operating temperature changes...???

Hmmmmm...Me thinks me might start having a look see at the various engine, exhaust, and coolant temp sensors that feed info to the ECU??????

I'm not overly familiar with the 355's electrical architecture, but I would start with a wiring diagram to identify all these sensors, and then I would check all of them --- systematically, one by one...

Perhaps pull your spark plugs to see if you can detect an obvious problem? How many O2 sensors are unplugged?

God, i swear I havnt laughed that hard in days. Probably more truth in that last sentence than we realise. Like, its going to end up being either something really cheap or stupid, or something that costs $$$$$$$$$$$$.
