Yeah the LS2 GTO's are doing alright in the price department but the LS1 cars have dropped like a rock.

Thats not that good of a deal. Ive seen '05s for under $20k with some mods and under 20k miles. I dont think there is anything different between the '06s and '05s either.

Yea. Originally the 2005 GTO came with only two options. Manual Transmission and 18 inch wheels. Which were about $500 each or so. It is a good looking car though, and if I could import one to Canada I would. I have never seen one on the road in real life.

You are not missing much :)

I actually really like the design, and have loved them since they were Holdens and not available here, and I would love to take one for a test drive but they are very sutble. They are very easy to pass on the road without a second glance.

I owned one 2 summers ago. They are a nice bang for the buck. The only dislike was the shifter. It was a Tremec t-56 trans(same as Viper and the Vette), but it was very sloppy shifting. I guess they used a different shifter that had a rubber mount and it was not as precise. There were actually people who went into reverse as they tried to get 5th. For around $500 you can get an aftermarket shifter. They only other issue is that you need to remind yourself that underneath this car is a Vette. On wet roads or in snow, you will spin the wheels.

I don't see much of a valid comparison between a used and modded '05 and this brand new '06. It's a pretty good deal, whether you want to admit it or not.

That car doesn't look much different than the POS Grand Am my grandpa drove around it for a long time (like early 90's I think). They should have at least tried to go retro to make it look like the old GTO because this IMO is a cheap boring looking economy car. To each their own I guess.

I seriously thought of buying one last year and having Lingenfelter supercharge it to use as a daily driver.

    http://www.lingenfelter.com/ls2gtoscic.htm

    560 hp/ 460 torque, highway mileage unaffected and a 3/36 warranty

I thought the car was comfortable (great seats) roomy, fits four and I like the fact it's styling is understated so I don't have every Cook County Sheriff on me. I think you could get one for 22 - so 32K out the door with the super charger.

I don't think theres a better performance bargain out there with a warranty

    Probably a scam.

Look at their previous items sold - cells phones and Christmas lights. Why would a legit dealer do that?
