Ok gentleman. Im kind of the new guy around F-Chat, but I need a favor and wanted to see if anyone was interested. I am the director of Sales and Marketing at GOTHAM DREAM CARS.

    Our website, obvioussly www.gothamdreamcars.com

    Now the request is this:
We have a booth at the Philadephia Auto show in the first two weeks of February. We need a Ferrari F430 Spider to put on display at our booth. It will be locked, it will not be tampered with, it will be surrounded by velvet ropes, it will just be there to be admired. We still have not gotten delivery of our F430 Spider, hence the reason for my request. We would pick up your car, and bring it to philadelphia in an enclosed trailer and return it the same way. Your car will be kept safe inside the autoshow for 2 weeks, nice and warm, free from the elements of our wonderfull north eastern weather. In exchange we are offering a one day rental in one of our cars. We have Lamborghini's, Ferrari's, Bentley's and a few more. If anyone is interested please contact me via this message board or email me directly [email protected]

I have heard great things about the "F-Chat" guys from my associates here at Gotham Dream Cars. So I am truely hoping someone is willing to jump in and help us out. Thanks guys!!!

We haven't met yet, but welcome to the board! I wish you the best of luck with GDC - they're all great guys.

Just curious though, you want to borrow someone's $250k+ car for 2 weeks and in exchange, you will let them borrow one of yours for only one day? Doesn't really sound like a good deal to me...

I do have a freshly repainted 355 Spider for ya though if you need it?

Well, actually I think its pretty fair. Because we arent going to be driving the 430 Spider. We are going to pick it up and put it on display. Its going to be indoors in a heated building vs. stored in a garage being unused due to the winter weather. In return we are offering the owner a one day of DRIVING one of our cars.

Basically what I am saying is: The owner of this F430 Spider isn't going to be driving it much in this weather anyway, so why not lend it to us in return for a 1 day rental which costs between $1000-$2000 (depending on the car). We would give the car a nice once over detail job as well. We have on staff an expert detailer that keeps all OUR cars looking like new.

This is just an honest request if anyone is really willing to help out.

make a thread in the mid-atlantic region. It would be easier for both parties if a local guy volunteered.

I'll trade you my Mondi for the G for a day under the condition that you only rent it to four leggy models.

Edit: Quoted the wrong post. Sorry Dave!

I think the request is fair. My booth vs your garage for 12 days in the dead of the NE winter. Mind you most 430 spyder isn't exactly a winter car, I mean the doors freeze shut when it gets cold out...So if anyone wants an even swap i'll be glad to put a GDC car in their garage inside velvet ropes for 12 days as a place holder. :)

Lending a car to you is not good thing to do. I made that mistake a few years ago, and it cost me $3500. Thanks again for that fryaclutchi!!!

4 years ago hutch, its not my fault your car broke once you got it back from me. Straight up you had a bad service preformed, I know how to drive, I did not abuse your car, if you dont have the sack to stand up to a service facility, dont pawn it off on me. I am sorry your car broke, I am sorry you think its my fault but its not. Let it go.

It was only 3 short years ago, Rob.

And I didn't get the car back from you. I had to go and retrieve it where you dumped it (WWoC).

Car was fine when I delivered it to you, fresh off a major. Driven a full day by me (stop & go traffic on park ave in NYC, 110+ mph on the LIE, through all the gears). It was fine.

I know that you know how to drive. Your abilities have never and will never be questioned by me. I also thought of you as an honorable, stand up guy. That is why I trusted you with my TR.

At least your reply included an apology, this time. Only took three years....

It's done with me. I've got better things to do than hang myself up on a bad judgement call I made years ago. Chalk it up to a live and learn lesson.

    Life goes on :)
