OK, I guess I'll start the thread.

First of all how many here are interested in going? Please post here and I'll take a count. Napa or Calistoga area I think would be beautiful AND maybe tempt the spouses to come along (is that good or bad?). I guess it is only fair to weight the location depending on where everyone is coming from. I'm thinking maybe late summer or fall.

Let me know what you think.

As long as it isn't between 1 Sept and 30 Nov I am 100% there. Even if it is too far to bring my car.

So PLEASE pick something during the other 9 months

this is going to be FUN to plan. it's the 60th anniversary of Ferrari, and August is already booked up. then I'm with Tommy after Sept 1 I'm out, it's my 10yr anniversary and me and the wife are dumping the kids and probably going to be gone for a few weeks somewhere, i'm pushing the greek islands. any case, somwhere before August for me.

Very cool Doc. Will you be coming from Alabama? I figured you'd be going to the East Coast one. If you are coming our way, I'd love to see you drive, but if not, it'd be great if you could attend either way.

If we get interest from those more inland, we might want to consider Lake Tahoe/Reno area. Just a thought.

I guess I'll chime in. If it is in California I'm very likely to go. I would definately go to anything wihtin a three hour drive of the Bay Area, and probably attend anything four hours away, and, well, the probability goes down little by little from there. That said I think a serious road trip would be very cool, just a little improbable.

Don't plan the event around me, but, GT4 willing, I'll be there if I can.

    I'll be threre for sure!

Heck, I might even live there by then! I've been looking at a property in Angwin (next to St. Helena) and another in Pope Valley, just over Howell Mtn road, which BTW would make for a very fun drive!

Hopefully the weather will be better than the first (see below) picture !!!

These pictures were taken 3 weeks (April 16th and May 7th) apart in '06 on separate trips from Medford to Los Angeles. The first was from LA to Medford and back, was to register my friend Jerry's Mondial in Medford. The next one was to pick-up my GT4 that was coincidentally "in" Medford, but unfortunately not "for sale" at the time Jerry and I went to Medford in April.

And in late Summer, the vines will be beautifully full too.

Well, I am very interested in attending, but really couldn't commit to any date yet this year. My preference would be more central/northern CA, but I'll keep an open mind! -m

    I'm in.

June or July in Tahoe / Reno sounds great. Same time frame in Napa area, or there are some great wineries to tour in Santa Ynez just north of Santa Barbara.

I'm in. The "where" part almost doesn't matter - I'll do everything I can to secure the time off, etc. If in CA, I'm pretty much willing to drive wherever. This is just the kind of kick in the pants I need to get me motivated on tackling some of my projects! :D

I'm interested depending on which weekend the event would be. Napa (e.g., Zahtila Vineyards), Tahoe (e.g., MontBleu), or similar distance/venue is fine.

    Did someone say "Calistoga"?
Here's what the turnoff to Calistoga looks like from the Ferrari driver's seat!

I used to live 12 miles from there and this is an excellent choice for meeting Ferrari folks with some very fun driving roads. HWY 128 from Cloverdale to Albion has been on R&T's top ten driving roads for years.
    Where's Riverflyer? He knows!

Avoid Napa. Although everyone from the other 49 States knows this as "the wine country", the locals know it as a tourist trap.

A sincere "thank you" to Henry for starting this thread :)

Such a gathering would be great!

Here's a thought or two regarding location..

With consideration to those who would be travelling from S. Cal - Oregon - Washington..the wine country in N.Cal. seems to be a reasonable mid point. The Sonoma county area has much to offer as a possible location. There are many wonderful sights..winding roads..great restaurants and hotels..wineries..summer temps in the 80's-90's. (springtime temps in the 60's-70's) It is also close
to both Sears Point raceway and the beautiful Mendocino coast.

The Lake Tahoe area is also worthy of consideration. Again..wonderful scenery..many winding roads..restaurants..hotels..outdoor recreation..and of course Nevada gaming. Also..summer temps generally run in the 80's. (springtime temps are cooler and weather
    can be unpredictible)

At any rate..count me in ;-)

I'd like to attend as well. Location and timing will probably affect my availability, as things can get pretty busy around here.

Come on guys, there are hundreds of other locations to choose from, is this the only location you can come up with Sonoma, Sonora, or Calistoga? I know this places are gorgious area but I'm sure there are better location than this as far as distance is concern for everybody.

So when are we going to finalize the WHERE and WHEN? I guess the sooner we decide the better, I just thought It'll be easier to make plans if we can plan ahead of time IMO.
