I expect big gains for this team, I don't know what it is (certainly not the exciting look of the car) but they will be a strong 2-3rd place behind Ferrari and reliable McLarens. I can feel it.

the car itself without the big wing things upfront is quite beautiful! I use to think that their paint scheme was a bit bland until I saw it for real at the USGP and I must say that it is one of the most beautiful looking paint schemes ever!

Actually I love the design of the BMW Sauber (just as I loved the real Saubers' design). Your examples are a bit unfair: The vertical wings were only used briefly and banned thereafter (I could post for instance a pic of the Ferrari at Imola with the hideous X wings) and the walrus shot is not a Sauber, but the Williams BMW where BMW only brought the engine to the table.

When I hear BMW I think back to the eighties and the pencil Brabham Gordon Murray designed. Now that was something!

Anyway, I expect good things from the Beemer Sauber this year: This is the first year BMW also designed the gearbox and I'm sure it is going to work just fine. I don't expect them to win, but to podium once in a while. Hopefully we'll see some wins next year.

My bigger question is more how long they will carry the Sauber name? My feeling is, that once they start winning the name will only be BMW.

I don't have an issue with the car but watch the driver. Kubica will be the next MS in a year or two. I was never a big fan of MS but Kubica has very similar traits - that ice cold robot terminator like behaviour and obviously that's what it takes these days. You read it here 1st :)

Agreed on Kubica. Just goes to show the amazing talent spotting ability Sauber had.

Hopefully Kubica will learn a few things over the years. That move in Turkey was extremely boneheaded (changing tires against the recommendation from the team).

But even more exciting than Kubica to me is their 3rd driver: Vettel, that guy to me is the true new MS.

You sure he has any shares left? I thought he sold it all off and is now "only" a consultant to the team.

'Looks' don't matter, only results do, which the wind tunnel is supposed to give them.
