here we go, after 4 weeks getting pc rebuilt, lost all emails, my Mondial 3.2 resurected the non start click wirrrrrr problem again , I fitted new starter & solenoid assembly pre xmas, drove fine, yesterday drove about a bit, started and stopped 6 times then on my drive ( fortunately) click wirrr,,, seems as if too much power to start car repeatedly and not enough miles to fully charge it.. after that thread chat a contributor said they fitted a Red top battery and problem sorted for good, could they please get in touch, and if anyone has such a beast or know where to source one, sounds a good plan before ripping out the wires and selling the copper core for scrap money!!

Pete (nitrousferrari) I believe is a big fan of red top batteries - I reckon he's your man. He's usually about in the evenings but hasn't stuck his head round the door yet...

Update - Pete is currently lurking on this forum...

I had no end of intermittent trouble with my Mondial starter, after getting an optima Red top (fingers crossed) i've had no trouble at all, I bought mine from fleabay (1st link), there are a few on there listed, the one you want is the 34R, also look in the fleabay shops at the bottom of the 2nd link, rather than just the auctions.

many thanks gentlemen, sorry to cause a fight, contacted a couple of links on f bay, but they replied the terminals only wrong way round, my positive is at the outside wing side, if thats makes sense, I assume the leads are long enough to mess about, the battery comes out through the top yes? after removing inner front storeage area panels? or do i remove the engine , gear box, ash tray and sun visor,, you know, the usual??

Standard fit isolator is on the near side of the car so therefore the negative on my QV is also on the nearside (left side facing front, for any American voyeurs)

many thanks, gottcha, bought a battery so now waiting for its arrival to fit and see if thats finally makes it go away,
on another point, looking for a little assistance, on the Z Ball Rally fund raising days for the Dougla Macmillan Hopsice I take my Ferrari and looking for another couple of F cars to operate a Dream Drive day from Trentham Gardens, in Stoke on Trent to allow lthe youngsters a drive in cars they can only ever dream of or see on the telly!! basically you bring your car, all nice and shiny as we get the public to make a healthy donation of the Hospice and you take then a short drive, they are passenegers only,. , 1 or 2 miles in the Ferrari, on return or pro photograper will take a digi pic shot and e mail it to them after, all part of the service.
We fund raise saturdays and Sundays March thro to end of May, perhaps if anyone is interested in helping us with their car, all models welcome, we would be very gratefull, last years we raised £14,000 and this year like to do £20,000,. the Hospice is a paliative Cancer care unit and boy, what a good cause that really need any brass we can give,
