...is a one-of-a-kind. It is promised to be at the Countach Reunion at Concorso Italiano in August of this year though. Joe
Marcello, Tut-tut. Where was your note pad so you could write down the chassis numbers of all these Countach you were photographing in the 80s? Thanks for posting anyway. Joe
Hello USA, In 1981 I was only 15 years old, no hair on my balls yet, still looking how much maximum km/h was on the odo Chassisnumbers came unfortunatly much later. I now track all Dutch Lamborghini's here in Holland, including chassisnumbers. I know of some 350 cars with somehow Dutch history. Ciao! Marcello www.lamborghiniregistry.nl
This remembers me of that black Countach featured in Car & Driver, december 1983, with a great shot of a girl holding a rose: LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH : Whips! Chains! Speed! Discipline! Roses!....Roses? Inside it looks like two cars are being used for photographs. One Euro spec, and one butchered for the US market.. Still, I like black Countach's with golden rims and scripts on the back. Ciao! Marcello
Hi Joe, Do you know the date of this event? You all got me pretty excited with this thread, and perhaps I will have a look how much an airplane ticket from Holland to USA gonna cost me. Ciao! Marcello
These popped up from the late 90s... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Marcello, don`t know the name of the chap - but I know the car and saw the owner various times in collee-shops at that time. He was a industrial developer. That`s all I know. Sorry! Ciao! Walter
Yes. It is chassis number 1121016, ex-Steve Dypvik. It lived side-by-side with 1121014 in California. As Steve told me, he had ordered 1121014 and it was ready for delivery at Sant Agata. Then factory concessionaire the late Dan Morgan informed him that another car 1121016 had also become available and would he be interested? Upon learning that 1121016 was not red, Steve then told Dan: "Ill take 'em both" Steve also owned Countach LP400 Periscopa 1120300 at the time... his Countach cup runneth over! Joe
Thats just proof positive that I'm an idiot. I spoke to chad about buying that car when he had it on ebay 3 or 4 years ago for $48k and thought it was too much! IDIOT, IDIOT, IDIOT! Thats probably my favorite countach of all time, the color is amazing. Congrats and good luck!
In 2002 or 2003, $48k was a VERY cheap giveaway (read: gift) price for any Countach that had an engine in it that operated. Gone are the days when the seller of a good running Countach received nothing but contempt & disdain from potential buyers. LOL. Yep, not to rub it in, but you really let that one go, especially considering that the color apealed to you! Which begs the question: How much did you think it was worth back then? $38k? OK youll be forgiven if you buy a nice Countach before they triple again.... Joe
I remember seeing it on Ebay as well but did not have even close to 50K to spend on a car. I even saved the pictures of it from Ebay knowing that someday I would like to find that car. I wanted that car so bad and could not believe it when it came up for sale.
No, I think he was referring to this car... anyway, this is the 1121016 I was referring to. Current owner has - LP400 Periscopa - LP400S Series One - LP5000QV Downdraught He can (like a few we know) be described as "Countach Crackers"....
