Bad influence these guys are Phil, is there a lot of difference between the A & F clutch? I'm fine with everything except when moving off in first. Sometimes, you just simply cannot control the throttle & the car surges forward, sometimes far too dangerous. On a manual car all we need to do is depress the clutch but in this case there's none. I am not very sure about "A" Clutch as mine comes standard in "C" Clutch. After changing the "F" Clutch, the car is a lot smoother. You have to regulate your throttle and this surging will not occur.
I don't know which edition is my clutch since it's never been changed so figured it's A. Still trying to understand the throttle, one of the most tricky one I've experienced. My next service is almost 5000km away, that's good news as I do less than 20 a day. BTW, what does the "Sports" button exactly do? I don't have the manual yet & the boys there gave me a very vague explanation. What tyres would you recommend other than the Rossos, I figure I should start ordering them since not many people stock 19" & shipping takes a few months.
Sports mode makes the throttle more responsive, stiffen the suspension and shorten the shifting time. It will not upshift automatically at redline like the standard mode. The tyres are the same size as a 997C2S thus not an issue to get locally, except you have to go for the Porsche N specs. N specs gives you a better grip IMO but the tyre wear will be faster. You can either go for the Neros on SE or PS2. Heard that PS2 is now available.

Fantastic! Looks like a lot of fun there.....so how's the experience like & what did you do that you can't do here?
Well, firstly its snow and ice driving so that is something we cannot do here. Besides the usual brake and avoid, doughnuts and salom exercises... we drove thru the Bannina Pass which was a few thousand feet up in the mountain. At the end they just let us have the cars and do what we wanted on the iced lake...actually there was an outline of a course which we followed. So all of us were "drift kings" by the end of the day.

I'll be in Zurich & Geneva in a few week's time. Hope it's not too cold by then but it sure is nice to have some fun in the mountains. I presume the cars were fitted with winter tyres?

Yes, I think this is where we are lacking here. Can some of you "new" Ferrari owners please share your experience? Eg. from the first impression, delivery, driving etc. I think I have been very fortunate having moved so fast over the past 3 years from a 16yrs old F348 to a 2yr-old Egear Gallardo. I haven't clocked more than a 100km in my new girl & I hope this will be the one that I can "fuse into one", I thought it felt close when we were doing the Sunday's "tunnel chase", the downshifts were fantastic, each time I pull the paddle the exhaust/engine roars to a high tune, it was freaking fast & she was so confident in every "obstacle" I overtook. The 8pot front, 4 pot rear brakes did ther job pretty well too & you don't feel the nose dive when you hit it hard. Like what Des's first impression when he stepped out of the testcar, "You could lose your licence in this!" Well, here are some of the specs. The 5.0 V10 is developed from Audi's 4.2 V8 but instead of 5 valves/cylinder it has 4. 500Bhp redlines @ 7800rpm & 510Nm @ 4500rpm with 80% available @ 1500rpm. Weight distribution 42% front & 58% rear. Dry weight of 1430kg Permanent 4WD Brembo 365mm front & 335mm rear discs Wheel & rubber sizes 235/35 ZR19, rear 295/30 ZR19 Anyway, I'm glad I took the stairs up learning from a cranky 348 gear box to a "Vintage" 911, 915 then a Testa's. Each has it's own character, the 911 is extremely agile while the TR was smooth but better suited for highways. Think I'll compare notes with the 997GT3.

Car doesn't break Jon. - I've driven mine hard...in some serious twisties. Very hard to get the tail out b/c of 4wd and always-on TCS. Although you can't drift much, it does give you a very strong feeling of being planted, which is reassuring. Don't know if you say the Fifth Gear review of the G, but Tiff Needle's biggest complaints was being unable to get the tail out. LOL - with all the fighter jet comparisons, not a far stretch. Same way - nothing like washing the car yourself. Waxing is a ball-breaking job, but done right, very satisfying. Always upgrade to the latest clutch Jon. If your car is out of warranty, I would still try with dealer, especially if you are on version A. Major improvements made with egear in later years. Lambo offered free clutch replacements / upgrades for 04 customers whose cars were under warranty, and from what I understand even took care of those cars out of warranty. Best.
