It does look it a bit...but I also heard somewhere that Bugatti wasn't happy with the car and wanted to go bigger and faster.

 

If this were true ,they wouldnt sell a single Veyron

better pic here- but its a photoshop- too bad- I'd love to see Bugatti develop a more race focused car. I wonder what that cars true potential is, I have a feeling we won't see too many modified

Bugatti definitely had a racing version running. The car was in yellow/black-paint livery and was seen in a TV-special about Bugatti in the Grman/French-TV-Channel ARTE approx. 2 years ago!

The car is still with the Factory and serves as a develoment car for new electronical- and mechanical components.

Dr. Thomas Bscher, whom I know from his racing engagement with his beloved 50ies Maserati racing cars, told me last October that they have two "Racing"-cars running.
They are too much involved now in the production/development of a new, lighter and smaller Bugatti for "the common rich"!

I would love to see a GTR version of the veyron that would definitely be interesting to say the least.
