I think I pooped myself a little at the end. I've never seen anything like that before. Can you imagine what the guy in Viper must have been thinking?

I'm surprised that when the driver of the Viper locked up the brakes, that he didn't try and hit the gas to push himself away from the slide. The driver of the Viper must have been crippled with fear and pressed the brake pedal through the floor trying to avoid what happened. He already had the Viper pointing in the right direction, all he needed was to shift momentum.

Yeah, seen the clip where he goes over the edge, but never the whole video. Looks like they were both driving balls out. Pretty cool.

Glad the driver was okay. They were both pushing much harder than I would have the courage to.

from just the 2 mins of watching them drive, id say neither of them had the skill or control to finish that race! and going thru blind twisties like that in a car into the other lane is a great way to get nailed from on coming traffic! hes very lucky to walk away!

the winner will usually be the one with the better driver. That viper did the same thing a ZO6 would do against a ferrari. Oh, and by the way welcome to last year.

Simple, the guy who drives the 355....because it is a Ferrari!;)

Anyway, reminds me of an old episode of "Coach" in which he made a joke about how the Browns would still lose their game against the opponent even if they win because they would have to go home to Cleveland!:D
Needless to say, he caught some flack over that.

I don't think a well driven Viper has ever been beaten at the Virginia City Hill climb by a 355.

Viper is a very fast car, there is no disputing it.

Doesn't change the fact that it is a Dodge.

I've driven that road many times in recent past, atleast I'm 99% sure it's the same road up in the santa monica mountains. It's an incredible road, truely epic, but it has these sorts of cliff drops in quite a few interesting places (many with "interesting" camber).

Where that viper went off, there is still no guard rail. I owned a 97 gts (heavily modified), and I can say that when you lock the brakes up on that 3400 lb monstrosity it is terrifying, especially if you are used to ABS.

That road is ferrari / mid engine heaven for sure, just make sure you have fire extinguisher and don't eat breakfast until after (or take passengers who get car-sick). May I suggest coogies in malibu after a spirited morning run :)

Anyway great vid, can't believe the guy walked away from it. It's a good reminder to only go 85-90% in these cars on those kind of roads, still plenty of exhiliration to be had!

At a track day we had some Vipers. They had problems overheating.
So if you can keep them on the track long enough....

Whoa! My heart sunk after watching that Viper go off. I really don't know how hard I'd press on that road if I didn't know it and my car like the back of my hand.
