Clayton B's LP400 has lived in California all its life and was first owned by Ferrari 250 GTO owner George Dyer. With its ear-splitting Bob Wallace "Megaphono" exhaust still in place we will see this LP at Concorso 2007... Joe www.lamborghiniregistry.com Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Walter. You can see Mike Lake in the blue one on the track, using it in a way Im sure youll approve Look at the red car closely....see the rear valance/heatsheild? The '74 & '75 LP400 Periscopas have the small/thin potrusions either side above the exhaust tips (very clean & very cool), but the 1976 cars on (right up to 1988 1/2 QV) have the 'boxed' & riveted valance. Personally I think the 74 & 75 cars that have the adjustable suspension with lightweight magnesium components, no footwell air-vents with old-style dash airvents, Britax belts, etc etc are very cool. Oh yes, and if you follow him down the highway at speed, the overrun sounds like shots from a high-calibre rifle, not to mention the two-foot flames that accompany the delightful crackling A freind of mine tried to buy this car this past month. "Not for all the tea in China....." He has had it since 1982. Joe
i personal think the early lp400 are the best of the serie because of the elektron parts and adjustable suspension -KONI- (i have to say though that elektron could be fragile)
This is what my neighbor did with his LP400 (yes its one of those LP400 'upgraded' with some LP400S features). It takes all kinds... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Joe, since your neighbor is not obviously interested in handling, grip or originality could you ask him if he would change the bravos with an as new set of cleaner 25th wheels ? i'd glady pay for shipping of both sets this way you have not to worry about me posting pics of my car with wrong equipment i will gladly share as many pics as you like with proper wheels on
Actually I have a plan. When Im invited over for dinner next time, by the time I leave, the peice of "art" will have 25th wheels on. Im sure he will never even notice.....LOL. Joe
The trick is - to use the car! Weak point also are the suspension bolts on all corners. They can rust when the car was not used for a longer period. Ciao! walter
Joe, yes - saw that! This was also a flaw of the car: when sit in it with a helmet you always have problems getting your head in upright position. If not, you are are dwarf! (...regards to Sow-white, love her boobs!) Ciao! Walter
http://www.carclassic.com/stock.asp?Ref=DU21&Lang=en here's an engine for the guy with the periscopa on his wall. also found a nice low km DD QV for the re-union: http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/find/4100_results.asp?bsubmit=true&lmodelflag=10331&lmanufacturer=10066&whatbutton.x=0&page=0&lCarID=1733661
there is one in Germany with a "miura engine table" too.. perhaps something for the "lambo on the wall" man, I seen it on ebay for sale aswell, also Miura. these people use a piston as a cup...
If I had the money to spend, I would do it. A great example is the Katrina Diablo. 40-50k with no motor, hang that sucker on the wall like the factory has. Better than spending 50k on a painting!
Oh my god, not a black countach!!!!! <looks down, shakes head> won't be seeing this one zoooming down the highway for quite along time, if ever.
