'08 Gallardo facelift confirmed. Lots of goodies, courtesy R8. And more horses in the stable - rumored 550 hp! Can't wait - http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=119343
ive heard otherwise (im not saying im getting the first), but how would you know? Dealers havent even been allocated spots. I call BS.
i have a connect at audi corporate and have already put my deposit on the car I'm looking at an early August delivery through Town Motors in Englewood.
1) Good luck with town motors. Im sure if you scour the audi community you will find out why I say that. 2) Lets wait until early August, ill be waiting for a picture of your car. 3) "A number of you have been promised cars, however things have changed. Your deposits could potentially be refunded very soon if they haven't already." Thats all im gonna say.
i dont want to get into a whole argument here, but exactly what has changed and why would my deposit be refunded?
im sure you audi executive can explain. Like you said, dont want get into an argument of who knows who and what. My point was that when someone comes out and says they are getting the first car in the northeast, when dealerships dont even know if they will be able to sell the R8 yet is a little ballzy (if thats a word).

But then again for all I know I could be wrong.
I bought a Motorola Q 3 days after they came out... paid $400 for it. 1 month later they were everywhere for $99. Don't understand whats the big deal of being the 1st to own a MASS PRODUCED car. Be the 1st to drive a Koenigsegg around... now thats pimp!
awesome stuff Vik.. what about the upcoming LP 640 "Versace"? http://www.leftlanenews.com/wp-content/plugins/iimage-gallery.php?idpost=4149&idg=1&idi=2 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
jesus i dont know what i did to piss everyone around here off, but i guess everyone just feels like hating me today. although technically the R8 will be mass produced, it will be a low-production volume vehicle, so it's not like i am bragging about driving around the first new A4 or something like that. Besides, i'm getting the car for sticker.
The Versace edition is ok. Not worth 500K imo, but I'm sure it will be for alot of other people... Now THIS I like!
lol... I'm not pissed off at all bro... just saying that I don't think its a big deal. Thats all. And btw... the R8 is AWESOME! Is it going to be a personal car or for the club?
not really pissed off, just telling you that whoever told you that you were getting the first car in the northeast lied to you. Dealers dont even know if they are going to get a car cause Audi corporate hasnt released a list of authorized R8 dealers. Its going to be based on RS4 sales. Maybe its just the internet being so crappy at setting the tone of your post. In anycase we are both audi guys. When mine comes in, you will probably have broken yours in. We will go grab a cup of coffee or something.
Matt...I'm fortunate to have just returned home from the Audi Forum in NYC where I attended a party with Audi AG. I, like you have connections at Audi and also know Bob Seibold at Town Motors personally. The bottom line is that Shivam is right that dealers do not yet have authorization to sell the R8 and won't have that authorization nor allocation numbers for sometime to come. The numbers will initially be limited with "preferred" dealers getting more than other and some will get none at all. The most important thing to know is that the R8 will NOT hit US shores until late Sept. at the earliest with Oct/Nov for initial deliveries more realistic. This came fresh out of the mouth of the head of Audi USA this evening and is what I was told by my friends at both Audi and local dealers including Town Motors, Riverside Audi and Jack Daniels. Regardless...the R8 is an amazing car (especially in the color combo I sampled tonight) that I had a chance to get intimate with this evening. The detailing and overall dimensions of the car are incredible and you're very fortunate to be one of the future owners of this remarkable machine. Congratulations.
I didnt know you were at the media event. I would have showed up. More importantly did you see the D-Type or did it make a presence?
yeah, bob s. and my father went to elementary, middle, and high school together and my family has bought over 40+ cars from town in the last 30 years or so. it was bob himself who took my deposit, so i have to say that i'm surprised i wasn't given the full information. i still love the car, and i'm going to assume that at the very least i'll be getting the first one from that dealership. i'm thinking about getting it painted that alsacorp mirrachrome to mimic the avus showcar, that could be nice. but i expect the light silver with carbon fiber trim should be pretty cool too.
Matt, have you looked into the Audi exclusive program? Its not that much to get the car painted the way you want, for the rs4 it was 3k.
