    All these British cars!

-- Glassman, nice S-Type, but what is that next to it? It almost looks like an Alvis, but given the proportions next to the Jaguar, it would be too small for that.

Bergxu-- Great TR4 and very, very low miles. Maybe someone needs to remind you that 2.2L TR inline fours are bulletproof and can run forever. The only thing that can stop a TR4 is rust in the IRS mounting points. (Or, I suppose corrosion on the electricals, but that takes but a moment with sandpaper to remedy!)

No garage queens in my house... I plan to drive my TR3 tomorrow to continue the 90K service on my 328! The 68 Polara convertible isn't worth enough to be a garage queen, and my 2002 Corvette first saw a driving rain storm the day after I took delivery!

Glassman-very nice Jaguar, that should be your daily driver! Lay a towel down in the back seat, put the dog in and drive that car!

Aaron-nice TR4, 17K miles is amazing! I really never considered British cars but I'm really liking MG's/Austin Healeys, etc. Maybe someday.

My 1989 has 46K(almost) so definetly not a garage queen and I plan to keep it that way. All nice cars guys, let's see more!

Nice 3.8S, those cars have some of the best wood inside. What is the car next to it?

bullfighter, I think your car has the best colour combination and looks of any Ferrari .... I so am getting sick of red Ferraris and have a friend looking at doing a black number on my QV, then it will be off to the leather people for the tan interior like yours

you should drive it more man!!

I did 11,000 miles last year and have never been happier in my life with a car

here is my queen, fiat2300s coupe , only done 5,000 miles in the last 13 years, still starts first time everytime and spins to 6500 revs very smoothly

21181 (first pic) was found not far from my home, up against a fence where it had spent the better part of a year with that horrific Fiero wing attached to it like a parasite. Car was originally Montecarlo Blu. Currently indicates 52K

21645 (second pic) intended as a parts car to help put 21181 back on the road with spares. Under all the oxidised paint was a not so bad driver with 44K. It drove out of the garage under its own power in late july, and I put almost 1500 miles on it before the winter arrived. Currently indicates 45K.

Beautiful car John! There is a 328 here in SoCal in that color with chromed wheels that is really stunning also.

    Jeff,

I bought the car from a widow in Lexington, Kentucky. Her husband bought it brand new and drove it very sparingly through the years. Since it is a genuine low mileage TR, I've decided to keep it that way.

    Sam,

I do know that thoe 2.2 Triumph engines (actually Massey-Ferguson tractor engines!) are bulletproof, and I've thought of rallying the car on occasion but it's too nice and original to risk it. I will also say though, that I like the 2.5 TR250/6 engine better. Great sound and ohhh that torque!

    Cheers,
    Aaron

When I bought my car in 2000, it had been driven less than 600 miles/year for its entire life by the previous owner. I've tried to do better but circumstances last year would only allow me to manage 450 miles for the entire year. This year will, hopefully, be different.

    Aaron,
now don't go perpetuating the myth among our F-chat friends here who don't know better :). F-chatters, the engine of which Aaron speaks is the four-cylinder mill that started in the TR2, but was also put into the Ferguson tractor...It was actually designed for the Standard-Triumph Ten -- an ugly little saloon that sold well under expectations. The engine, however, was very torquey, so with a little work, it was put into the TR2 sports car in 1953. The engine was already being hot rodded for the TR2 when it started being purchased by Ferguson for tractor use. So it's roots are in a car, but was fast enough for a sports car, but strong enough for a tractor! (Kind of like Secret -- strong enough for a man, but made for a woman.)

And Aaron, don't have too much six-cylinder envy. My first TR was a TR-250, and it wasn't faster than a TR4 (or really a TR3, for that matter.) The torque is slightly higher, but it's also a heavier car. Plus you have to replace two extra plugs when it starts to leak oil on them!
