Any owners or former owners? I think the cars look cool. I would love opinions on them, esp concerning driving feel/dynamics.

Wow, blast from the past. I think the top of the line one was turbo/AWD. And had a dash that looked like Luke's targeting computer on the Death Star run.

My cousin had a SVX when we were kids. If I recall, you could raise and lower the car with a switch on the dash. Pretty cool for the 1980's.

I had an SVX and another family member had two. It first came out in 1992 and there was no switch to raise and lower it. It did have a lot of neat stuff going for it though such as a DOHC 32 valve flat-6 with one of the best engine notes out there. We have always had a Subaru of one for or another in our family. The SVX feels completely different from any of their other cars in terms of interior quality and drivetrain sound. The biggest downside to it was the huge drop in value while I owned it. Now that's much less of an issue though since the pricing has pretty much bottomed out.

Since the svx did not come out until the 90's , it must be the xt I'm thinking of. This was about 1987 or so.

Get one with the "four block" looking wheels and drive around in it in a purple jumpsuit with "Hyper Ninja Super Cooperative Force" on the sides.

I have a good friend who bought an XT new...it needs a full restoration and he actually intends to do it. Nostalgia can be a powerful drug.
