Having just bought this 348 I am wondering what I should put in the front trunk. Any suggestions? Things like tools, anything needed to get it on a flat bed if need be etc. Maybe some new inflate a flat bottles? Even if you do not use the gunk inside them the air they hold may be enough to get you to an off ramp or something. I already can see the front trunk leaks and this seems to be common. I will tend to only drive my 348 when it is dry but I may drive it someday in the rain so I have to be aware of the front trunk getting wet. Also when I wash it.

    Contents of my front trunk:

    *Factory tool kit (never used)
*My own tool kit (in a hard plastic box). Includes a basic ratchet/socket set in both 3/8" drive and 1/4" drive, a 1/2" drive breaker bar with socket to remove or tighten the wheel lug bolts (but no jack), a set of open/box end wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, crescant wrenches, vise grips, electrical circuit tester, spare bulbs and fuses, an emergency tire plug kit, shop rags, etc.
*Two bottles of inflate-a-tire. In case you are not aware of it, the factory bottle of inflate-a-tire is very old by now, and HORRENDOUSLY expensive to replace (like more than $200!). Keep the factory bottle for originality, don't use it.
    *An old blanket
*My fabric car cover in its bag.
*A Ferrari-logo gym bag full of cleaning supplies
*A small electrical air compressor in its case.
*The bag to hold the cover for the targa top, in case the targa top ever is actually put in place.

Beyond the factory supplied stuff, I have a medium sized gear bag with the following:

    1) 5lb Halon fire extinguisher
    2) 2 each Fix-a-flat" tire inflators.
    3) Small bottle of Griot's Garage Speed Shine
    4) Several microfiber cloths.
    5) Surefire G2 Nitrolon flashlight
    6) Pocket Leatherman tool
    7) Spare AA batteries for FRS radio
    8) Tiny first aid kit with a few bandaids and Tylenol

Other than the batteries and Speed shine, the rest of the stuff has never been used...and I have carried the same bag for 7 years through three different Ferraris I have owned. (knocking on wood) ;)

Seeing some of the great lists for front trunk kits made me wonder what minimal things that I could pack in there to cover most dead-on-the-road phenomena.

Why are cars on the side of the road?
#1 is clearly running out of gas. Whatever happened to Pennzoil's great Rescue Fuel (and no, the internet rumors that it was just kerosene aren't true)? http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/products/roadside_rescue.htm

#2 is probably a dead battery. There are small products for that: http://www.amazon.com/Start-Me-Up-Car-Battery-Charger/dp/B0006ZHKXE/sr=1-24/qid=1170049365/ref=sr_1_24/104-2120082-0973529?ie=UTF8&s=automotive

#3 I'd think would be a flat tire. Easy: http://www.amazon.com/Johnsens-High-Pressure-Quick-Applicator/dp/B0009G3CKK/sr=1-3/qid=1170049660/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/104-2120082-0973529?ie=UTF8&s=automotive

#4 might be a coolant hose giving way. Easy patch: http://www.autobarn.net/vicv302.html

With the above, plus an adjustable ratchet ( http://www.amazon.com/Crescent-FR28SWMP-Adjustable-Ratcheting-Socket/dp/B000EOFQVU ), a single pair of vice grips, a couple of spare fuses, a short length of electrical wire, hand-cranked flashlight (no batteries: http://www.amazon.com/Garrity-Power-Crank-Titanium-Silver/dp/B000FLESY8/sr=1-1/qid=1170045489/ref=sr_1_1/104-2120082-0973529?ie=UTF8&s=hi ), and a Leatherman, I'd bet that you'd be able to cover 80% of the most common roadside "emergencies."

    Any thoughts on said matter?!

My trunk is also getting soaked when it is raining. The only things I have in there is a spare alternator belt and the tools to change it.

The jack of course and the flat tire bottle. The funny thing is..........never thought of it getting old and useless. Got to keep it in the garage and buy a fresh one.

Still can´t load any pictures by the way..........just tried.

    The trunk stays empty.

Why add weight to the vehicle? Unless I'm going far out of town...
