I have heard many of you talk about certain reputable dealers of used Ferrari's. Any sugestions.
Because you're posting in this section, I assume you are looking for a 308, 328, or Mondial. Unfortunately, there aren't too many (FNA) dealers keeping 3x8s on their lots. I see a fair number of Mondial Ts from time to time, but very rarely a 3.2 and never a QV. Not to fear - there are plenty of (non-FNA) dealers in the U.S. who DO have interest in 308s and 328s - Forza Motorsports, already mentioned - but also check out FerrariAds here on FChat for members' cars, Hemmings Motor News (www.hmn.com), your local Craigslist page (www.craigslist.org), and a few others that I'm forgetting right now. Just remember - there is a lot of inventory these days, so be patient, and don't jump on the first car you see. You'll know the right one when you see it (and it passes a PPI!). Best of luck.
Ferraribuy.com Hemmings.com is also good What, no one listed ebay? You could find a good car there but not by bidding I would think. Some seem to put it on ebay for exposure at a ridiculous reserve and then sell it private party. Cars.com Autotrader.com, these can work sometimes. good luck Jeff
The 308, 328 and Mondials are mostly for sale with independent dealers. If one of them is for sale with an authorized Ferrari dealer you will definitely be paying a hefty premium and still not get much recourse if anything turned out to be wrong with the car. As a result, there is no single location or website where you would find the right car. You simply have to do your homework, spread the word that you're looking, be persistent and get a little lucky. The best thing you could do you have done already, which is to sign up at FerrariChat.
I have seen fairly priced ferraris on E bay with insultingly lowball bids, never near reserve/fair price. Joe
Forza Motorsports has what looks to be a nice Euro, dry sump, glass car..........might want to check it out.... Good Luck, Anthony
If you are looking to overpay, go with the Dupont Registry. Ebay is OK, but independent dealers, private sales through FerrariAds are probably your best bet for finding a 308 / 328. I found mine on this website just asking if anyone was looking to sell theirs. Worked out great for me!
I am also looking for a 308, euro QV. Any recommendations on someone to do a PPI. I'm in Las Vegas, don't know where the car will be.
Wait for the right car to come up on here. Read up the owner's posts and you'll have a ton of info. Worked for me.
I looked for 8 months before I found the car I wanted. It turned up on ferrariads.com Belive it or not.. I didint buy the best cosmetic car I could find. I bought a very well maintaned example that needed an interior. To boot it was an 85 QV. The right car will turn up, just takes some time and a clear objective of what your criteria is. I took 3 round trip plane tickets. As I looked at 3 different cars. I did not have much luck with dealers though. the 2 cars I looked at at dealers were pretty misrepresented as far as mechanical condition, but they sure shined up nice.
Join the ferrari club of America, you will get their monthly news letter and there are always some 308/328's for sale.
I saw the Euro Glass 308 at Forza. It is black and I beleive the early ones were all GTBs. I think he is asking 50,000 for this car. I saw a similar glass 308 in Vermont last year for about 37,000. From what I have read these carburated early 308s are going to go up in value more than the other 308(s). I have been thinking alot about that Euro 308. I think I will call him tomorrow.
Take that wonky ceiling console out..probably need new headliner cuz of holes... I'll second FCA newsletter..some jewels pop up in there.........
