There was a girl at my high school that was rumored to be Larry's daughter and her brother Justin as well. Slept with most of the school ;)

You know, Valerio's tape job kinda makes that 430 wheel look like Eddie VanHalen's guitar!! Very hip.

Just found this picture on Wrecked exotics and its of a f430 that was totaled in a real bad accident. I find it interesting that the Airbag did not go off.. although the steering wheel was thrown from the car...JJ

Id be interested to see what the dealer tech has to say about all this when they check the sensor history. They will be able to tell you which sensor made it all go BOOM.

Glad to see you guys made it out OK.

That's good to hear. I heard about the airbags shortly after but my computer was down yesterday (had a virus took about 6 hours to manually rip out). I'm glad to hear you're ok and that the F430 is fine too. You get big respect points for patching it up and keeping on the drive!

I believe that the car will only be in the shop a short time (maybe a week).

Before I arrived at the shop this morning, Gary at the Auto Gallery already ordered the windshield. He's always gotten me in and out in record time. The whole crew there are the best.

Actually, Yes! After we got going again, there was some kind of dust from the airbag on the inside windshield. Steve tried to wipe it away with his hand and it just smeared. So I grabbed one of his microfiber towels and cleaned the windshield while we were driving.:)[/QUOTE]

I set off both airbags in a sportscar I own, not long ago. Light impact ,in fact from the side you could not tell the car had a problem. Right side bag cracked the windshield. More of a PITA than anything else. Had a tiny 2mm cut on my left forearm when the cover opened up. I continued to steer the car as they deflated. Worse thing was not being able to enjoy my steak that night since everything tasted like airbag powder. Took a day to taste food again.

This is a scary story. I 'm glad you guys are OK. I have a budyy who is a fireman/paramedic. He tells me there are a lot of people(including paramedics), who are injured by airbag deployment every year. Some during an accident, some after an accident and some while trying to rescue a victim. I hope Ferrari or some objective third party properly evaluates the circumstances here.

    Regards,

    Stew

p.s. Jason if you are afraid to ride in a fast 430, I will take you for a slow ride in my 360 !

The car was inspected at Auto Gallery. It appears that it did actually hit a rock on Mulholland. Unfortunately, it went under the car and hit the airbag sensor dead on.

This seems to make the most sense. At least, I'm not going to worry about air bags inadvertantly going off in my car.

That's about all the excitement on this thread.
