just to get this straight as i'm confused a bit,Eric own's 2 out of the 3 GTR's in the US?
man, you can't get enough of the gtr, eh? i still cannot grasp how it took 17 hours to get this collection together, that's incredible.
Eric, If you could keep one car out of the lot, what would it be, forget the value, just one that you love........ Matthew
If you are referring to the pano, here's a very large, 5.5MB hi-res version: http://homepage.mac.com/ponyboy/ivr/keuylian_cropped_hr.jpg And yes, the middle one is "just" a GT. Sorry for the confusion. Jimmy -------
Cracking collection Eric. Yep, its not my choice but its not my ££! Pat on the back to you for getting them all together...but a gentle kick in the nuts for not getting the Orange GTR when you had the chance Enjoy in good health. Jamie
Cool, I'm curious what you think of the Elise compared to some of your other cars. Obviously night and day differences here, but still curious what you think! Hopefully you've put enough miles on it...
its my second favorite to drive behind the enzo as number one, the gallardo spyder is fun too, but the elise ins much more fun. i'll keep it until i wear it out and then get another one i love the elise and they are cheap relitavey speaking
There's an Enzo owner in the Chicagoland area that has the same exact feelings about his Elise. I've never heard anyone say they don't love driving that car..
yes the orange one went to japan, there is anothe guy in ca that has one so we only know of 3 in the US ans i know that the yellow one i have is the only one that has never been tracked it has 700kms on it had 150kms when i bought it, its brand new, there is also a new one at the factory i think they built 31or 32 but thats just me speculating. but because the yellow one is the only new one who know what is worth. I know it isnt worth a million but i wouldnt take a million for it.
it took 17 hours just to photograph the cars and move them around, the red Countach had to be pushed everywhere and that aint easy, it took a few weeks to get them in from various spots in ca and here in vegas and detailed, the Maybach was a bit dirty, the hummer was dusty, the SE30 has real bad paint but was clean. They shot probably 1000 pics. I saw only 2-3 of them until this thread, the cars are again scattered everywhere-infact i dont have a clue where the white RR is, i had it shipped to Ca and its in storage somewhere.
I know how that is..I didn't have a clue where my car was after Saturday night..though I didn't know for different reasons .
I'm hesitating between a crasy answer, a funny answer, but certainly a ridiculous answer !!! As you can think wide, you should have done it before answering. I would not like to misinterprete your answer but I feel like you have been hurt by my opinion on your "collection". Now, it's on me, I feel hurt by the absurd ideas of jalousy. Do you really think, on such a site of passionate people, you will find jealous guys? maybe, but not much. I am very happy for you, not for the cars you have, not for your success, but because you are happy with it, and it is perfect! About jalousy, funny thing to go directly on it just because I find no sense in the cars you have. Now, I understand your choices, but it wouldn't be mine! Yeasterday, I spent the afternoon with a friend that owns a 10M cars collection, not made of double choices, but of 30 beautiful, rare models. (a lot of nice ferraris for the fans ) This IS a nice collection, you have half a collection, half an accumulation. But I feel happy for you. (I hope right here you can follow me and understand that I dont piss on your collection) The guy with the 30 cars collection, is as some of your friends, 10 times richer than I am (I'm working on it...) and you know what, I was happy for him!!!
I found no sense because as i didnt know him, i didnt know the reason why he had pairs. But anyway, to me, collecting is the greatest way to enjoy your passion about cars, about anything. But the choices must never be too easy when the money makes it easy. There are ways to spend your money, there are ways to have taste. Maybe is it my European way of thinking, and it is also absurd. To give you an image, I think this is a vulgar way to have a 25k rolex on your wrist and a nice way to have a 15k PatekPhilippe, Zenith, Breguet, Vacheron COnstantin......
Those GTRs that you see are very rare and a great investment. the yellow one is very few miles on it but the blue you can drive. Same goes for the countaches. red one has 138 miles on it but the white one can and has been drivin. Also those are good investments. To me the RRs make sense because now its 700k in Phantoms instead of just one Rolls that everyone has anyway. Most people that i know have 2 Phantoms and some even 3. For watches why not have all of them including the 25k rolex and two 1 million dollar Pateks? One to wear and one to keep mint.
Of course, the GTRs ans countach are good choices. For your answer on the watches, is it the think wide syndrom? I am sure you did understand me, didnt you?
Thinking wide and is good, and this is one of the corner stone of every success. But big doesn't always means sense.
Jeez...Those pics should be framed and hung in offices instead of those cheesy (ie: 'Teamwork', 'Persistence', etc.) motivational posters. Eric, thank you for sharing...
Motivation enough with those things hanging on your wall. I love what Jeremy Clarkson said: "Sportsmen should be given a Rover to start with, when they first get a contract. It's an incentive to do better." Or something.
