No pics - it was late at night. Hard to say. The F50 pilot is a better driver than me and I am still going a bit easy on my car - shifting at 8k most of the time. My ceramic brakes are definitely better than the F50 stock brakes. I was right on his a_s most of the time as I love to watch the F50 suspension work in the corners. We race together so driving close is no problem except for the stone chips!!!
TFT is becoming really irritating. I get half of the image of the car in reverse when I am driving forward. I need to take the car in but I am enjoying driving it too much. It still works so I will let a few bugs develop further!!!
The only thing that makes the time spent worthwhile are the thoughtful comments and useful information from the minority
That must have been quite a sight ! An F50 and a 599 tearing it up at night.. I also love seing the rear suspension work in the F50.. So beautiful. Stone chips make the car sexier imo
I just switched my E55 for a Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT. The Sport GT is big fun. 53% of the car's weight is on the rear and it is huge fun to throw around. The F1 works great and the sound of the exhaust is amazing. Friends were confirming specs of 599's so we decided to do the switch of our sedans for Sport GT's and bought 3 of them. I went for a very traditional Italian look - silver with beige interior. It actually looks a lot like my 599 - beige leather, CF and black dash. I get the car in early Jan. I really love my E55 Estate but I think the Sport GT has brio!!!!
Congrats on your 599. They are awesome. I was at our local Ferrari dealer to pick up my F430 that just arrived. They had a red 599 that just got off the boat. The visuals are stunning and the sound is intoxicating. I could not sit in it since the car is spoken for but my nose prints are all over the car. The mechanics that were able to drive it praised the car with bright shinning eyes and a smile as large as China herself. They offered me a march Slot 2007 but I wanted to spec my own car. I ordered a 599 for first qtr. 2008 the gods willing I have spent alot of time in Hk and China and I enjoyed your comment on 2nd gear would be boring only driving in HK. So true Good luck with your car. I think you will love the color combination. I am looking foward to seeing the pictures. enjoy! Lee
The Sport GT is the most sexy sedan ever. The only thing i didnt like while i had one for 3 days was the GPS ( Total garbage when you are used to BMW or Merc ) and the gearbox wasnt as smooth as in the Stradale. But the car looked sooo beautiful and you dont have that boat feeling when you corner as you do when driving a 7er/Sclass.
GPS not a big issue in HK. I really love the feeling of the car. It handles great. I don't mind the gearbox at slow speeds because it works so well at higher RPM's. On the test drive with 4 men in the car i took a 50kph corner at slightly higher speed... and the car slid beautifully. The electronics were not obtrusive. The gearbox is great for trail braking. The stock tyres are surprisingly good. What a fun car

I just picked up my green 997 GT3 RS with ceramic brakes and it is mega. Unbelievably mega. 599 may be neglected for a while. I just can't believe how much better the 997 GT3 RS is than the 996 version. I will post a picture of the new baby next week. I am spending the rest of this week in China racing Formula Renault in the Pan Delta Speed Festival
Don't think that is me. It looks like the dealer demo car to me. Rosso Scuderia with black interior and T Plate hanging off the front
Don't neglect the 599, I've been hunting for Ferrari's and haven't found anything good. Drive it more so I can get a photo
You will have lots of amazing cars to shoot on February 8 - there will be a 60th anniversary parade. I will drive my Daytona and friends will drive my 288 GTO and my F40. There will also be a 275 GTB/4, Enzo, F50, 599 and anything else cool that you can think of
May I know what is it about ??? Can public(people like me don't have ferrari) join to take photos ? Henry
Great thread, awesome collection. Have you posted pics of them somewhere? If so could you point out a link? Which do you prefer to drive between the f40 and the 288? Enjoy in good health.
I am sure there will be lots of publicity. Public is definitely welcome. I don't have all the details myself yet but when I do I will let you know
The 288 GTO is fantastic on the road but I would not take it on the track. The F40 is a great weapon on the track and can be a challenge on the road with its' long front overhang. The boost on the F40 is one of life's great experiences. I will post some photos. I have not posted too many
I just got my 599 back from the dealer. It needs a new TFT display which will be shipped from the factory. The following is a photo of my TFT acting up. A ghost image of half of my rear parking sensors while I am driving down the road Image Unavailable, Please Login
DM18, Thank you very much for posting so much about your cars, driving experiences and impressions. Some more photos of your Ferraris would be great. Sounds like a tremendous garage collection. Just reading your comments has me smiling and keen to be behind the wheel again. Maybe tonight! Currently I'm two years (& over 25,000km) into F-car #1 - an '89 328 GTS - and enjoying every minute of ownership. Next trackday for me is Friday 9th Feb. Can't wait. Reading posts like yours motivates me to ownership of the flagship models like the 612 and 599. Enjoy every day. Thanks again & best wishes, Pete
Great stuff! Here is a photo of my trackday last weekend. I took my 348 and inspite of it being the oldest car on the track by a wide margin, I was quite pleased with the 348's perfromance. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
