Anyone care to recommend a good steak place around 400 and Mansell, Holcom Bridge, etc in Atlanta. Something on the order of a Morton's or Carbenet.

    Just in for one night.

The closest is Ruth's Chris Steak House at the exit of Rosewell and 285. But you are so close to Buckhead at that point of time you can also lok at Chops.

i think there is a place called something "creek". killer creek ? rumored to have good steaks. i think it's on mansell in front of sams club.

i have heard HALS has the best steaks in town from various sources. i have never eaten there.

Why not head up 400 to Windward, there is a Cabernet there. I've eaten there on a couple of occassions and the food was superb.

Stoney River, corner of HWY 9 and Holcomb Bridge..Gives all of the "signature" steakhouses a serious run for their money...

If you want all the meat you can eat go to "Fire of Brazil" at exit 11.

Exit 11 is Windward Parkway isn't it? That's the same exit for Cabernet as well.

Great, that gives me a lot to work with.

I've taken people to Cabernet a number of times and have enjoyed it and passed by the Barzilian place as well.

    Appreciate all the recommendations.

That would be Ray's Killer Creek, on the north side of Mansell just west of 400. I haven't eaten there, but if it's as good as Ray's other restaurants, it ought to be pretty good.

I'll second Stoney River, I eat there all the time and it is probably some of the best steaks around. Also Killer Creek is pretty good. They have more than steaks and they also have Jazz on weekend nights. Stoney River is at exit 7 off 400. Just go east and it will be about 2 miles down on the right. Killer Creek is just east of Exit 8 off 400.

Also I forgot to take into account the parking. Killer Creek is much more car friendly with a valet that will let you put the car wherever. I probably would not leave my Ferrari in the lot at Stoney River since it's in the back in the dark. You didn't say what you were driving to this dinner.
My wife still wants to put together a website of Ferrari friendly places to go in Atlanta.

We're going to try Stony River. Thanks. Sounds good. We're staying at the Hampton just off 400 at Mansell so its close.

We have a company car so for once someone will have to look out for me. :)

Ruth's Chris Steak House in Sandy Springs is one of the best...much better than Stoney River or Killer Creek IMHO...http://www.ruthschris.com/locations/artlantasteakrestaurant.html

We ended up at Stony River and really enjoyed it. One of the people I was with fancies himself as a steak conessuer (sp?) and he was favorably impressed. We both had the legendary fillet. Thanks for the excellent recommendation.

On another note, I still cannot believe how much this part of Atlanta has grown. We used to live in a small subdivision called East Spring Lake just off Upper Roswell Rd and very close to Roswell Square. I rarely went north of Holcomb Bridge. Now it seems like the whole population center of Atlanta has shifted there.

    Thanks again.
