Hello All, I have been looking and doing a search for MSRP pricing and options here. I found the options list. What is base MSRP for the 599? The reason I ask is the quoted prices for previously owned cars is between 150K to 200K over MSRP. Anyone buy a 599 on the pre-owned market? Are you finding Ferrari dealers are asking for a contract for owners to sell their cars back to them before the sell them to them? Anyone have the chance to drive a 6-spd man trans to compare it to the F1? How many 599's coming to US this year? Any comments greatly appreciated. Thank you
I'm sure someone has driven a 6pd, but I havn't read anything on here from members that have i may have missed something though. What I do know is that the stick cars have been delayed due to a problem with the clutch. Base price for a 599f1 is 265,xxx I believe. Originally there were going to be 200 599s coming here a year, but I have heard rumors that that number has been lowered but not 100% sure. Sorry can't give you better info, but some is usually better then none, for me at least!
Where exactly did you read this number? I don't think that Ferrari themselves have any idea how many 599's they will deliver to the US this year, especially with the delay in stick shift cars and the obviously growing demand from newer markets where the potential for supernormal profits is greater due to the very excessive demand as these markets come on line - China, Russia, India for example. What is clear is that they will certainly not come anywhere close to satisfying the paid deposit orders aready in the hands of US dealers. Scottsdale Ferrari have over 50 confirmed orders for the 599 and they are expecting no more than 6 cars this year. They have delivered three cars already and there is nothing on the horizon shipping to them, certainly not until April or May.
I have followed this closely 1500 estimated yearly 30% us - 450 estimated chat room info on resale - la auto gallery sale / buy-back /resale = 500K good luck
According to my Ferrari dealer, Ferrari NA stated 150 cars per year to US, Puerto Rico and Canada. No one knows for sure whether this number is accurate, but the way it looks so far with the amount of cars coming in, it surely might be a close to accurate number. All I know for sure is this seems to be a pretty rare car already, we will see what the future holds for both number of cars delivered and market and resale value.
i don't think there's any way to know until the final tally is taken when it is taken...there is so much going on in F Car world right now...as Alex said, the deposits far exceed the actual cars delivered...whatever the 'expected' number may be, i imagine it's going to be diff when all is said and done.
It was on some review I read like Road N Track Car N Driver one of those, dont have it near me, but it said something like if you are one of the 250 lucky owners to get a 599 this year.... So nothing official by any means, i was just throwing what i had heard out there, sorry if i stirred the pot.
Hello All, Thank you to everyone that has commented. I went to the Detroit Auto Show and had the opportunity to sit and see the 599. I admit it looks much better in person than in pictures( just mho). One would hope that with such high demand and so many deposits on 599s that Ferrari will try to fill most of them by increasing production. It seems to me with the success of the F430 the number of people that want one and could not order one from a dealer that how strong the pre-owned market has been that Ferrari is in a very strong position. Ferrari could send as one person here suggested 450 cars to North America and demand will still be very strong. Or at least 250 and things would not change that much in pre-owned prices. If you are a Ferrari dealer it would seem that you might actually want all these or at least more of the people that buy pre-owned Ferraris to be your customers and not some independant. Any thoughts? Thanks,
Ferrari have the capacity currently to build around 5,500 cars a year. On the assembly line at the factory, which is very hand labor intensive, the V8's move from station to station every 28 minutes whereas on the V12 line the gap is 58 minutes. The V8 line is exclusively for 430's currently while the V12 line does 599's and 612's. The demand for V8's is still way greater and you will see the odd 430 moving down the V12 line (backwards as the engine is in the rear!). They are even using the supercar line, where they built the Enzo, for 430's. This line is completely manual and the cars move along that line by being pushed, whereas on the regular line the cars are suspended from a moving overhead rail. I doubt that Ferrari could significantly up their output of 599's at all given the way the factory is structured. Ferrari currently works only 1 shift per day, 5 days a week and there is no plan to change that. The paint shop, which is a fully automated robot facility, has capacity for 10,000 cars a year as it is currently structured and also handles alll the paint needs of Maserati.
Please share the ads with us, or specifics please. VIN's or dealers would be nice. Otherwise, you're blowing smoke. IIRC, Casino, you've done the same before. And the US market is VERY different than the Euro market. 246kEuro + VAT= what? how was it optioned? Base is close to that in Switzerland. Maybe it is one of those "phantom cars". VIN's or pics at dealer. Image Unavailable, Please Login
True but.... Doubling availability from 250 to 450 will split the demand in the coming years. Demand is strong right now, but Ferrari wants equal demand throughout the 4 or 5 year duration of the 599 model. Its not a matter of how fast they can deliver the cars to customers, but how to maintain steady growth and cash flow to the company. Its a matter of numbers and $$, and a very tricky game which Mr. D Montezemolo knows how to play very well.
Sfumato, as I received the information from my friend who lives in Monaco, I won't bother satisfying your obvious 'thin-skin' when it comes to questioning the relative values of the 599 or any other car for that matter. Oh....(news flash), the market in Europe is different than the States.....really, no kidding? I am sure any review of the numerous European based car sale business's will show more than one or two at or near the prices I quoted. Regardless, I am not sure of the point you are trying to make.....are you denying that there are 599's for sale in Europe at less than MSRP? (ps, VAT is irrelevant, as it applies to both the original sale price when new, and any subsequent resale. No net difference) (pps, 3000+ posts...you need to get OUT a bit...!)
It has nothing to do with me. You made a statement, unsupported, as someone with a lousy track record. Hearsay, a "friend of whomever". I suspect most anyone understands the market differences better than you. Those cars that are languishing in Europe would be on a flight to the Far east fast to bring in real money, not MSRP or less. If they do exist, their owners/dealers are leaving lots of money on the table. Stupid. Hope someone buys them and ships them, the current owners have no clue. I get out enough that I don't come here often anymore due to the armchair experts here. And it is more fun to drive Ferraris than debate with insignificant trolls. The quoted price made no reference to sales tax, if it was indeed a "new" car. So tax does play a role. Send me a 10k deposit, I'll sell you my 599 when the price drops down where you wish, what, 80% MSRP? Put up or shut up. It's only 10 grand, someone with your vast market knowledge should be able to swing 10x that. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Here we go once again. With every model change, the hawkers come out of the woodwork. Right behind them come the fools with more money than brains. Right now, for instance, the 430s are going for way more than they are worth. I always wait three years and then buy a low mileage model. I did it with my 360, and I did it again with my 575M. I'm going to do it with the 599. Patience is a virtue! I get behind a fellow with big bucks, smooze him, and when he wants to sell, there I am. No sweat for him; no sweat for me. On another note, I wanted a "throwaway." I decided on an '04 T-Bird. This was in September of '05. I called my broker and he found me a "West Coast" edition 2-top in Montery Mist under Ash HT with 3,700 miles on it for $28,500. So, you can play the game and get what you want. Cheers
I know Andy. He lives a few miles away. I know his friend in Monaco too. What Andy said is correct and his friend has all the right connections there too. If he said there are 2 599s there below MSRP...well then there are 2 599s below MSRP. Believe it.
I was offered a new 599 from a dealer in Dec. it was a flipper and $150k over list or about $420k plus tack on stuff. I bought a new 2006 F430F1 instead. Okay i did order a 599 for early next year. I have my doubts wether I will ever really get it at the $15k over list promised. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I should be able soon to buy a F car at list. oh maybe not LEE
