Dunno the origin of that graphic, it's obviously hard to define metallic color in print or computer media, that's why I was advocating an actual scan..

That's how they mix paint anyway these days!

    Hi,

This has been the first time I have seen multiple, early steel cars advertised in a major publication for $40k - I thought this was one of the most significant, legitimate market indicators (many other indicators have influence, of course -so this could be an anomaly) that I have seen for 308s in recent times, which is why I thought it was worth mentioning. Once others see these asking prices, things may begin to happen - not that I would ever sell my 308, but as an enthusiast, I like to see important vehicles get what they deserve.

    Thank You,

    Anthony

I dont see anything saying Montecarlo. I would put it somewhere between the blu chiaro, and the blu tour de france on your chart. This car is reported to be montecarlo blu, same paint code.

Here is my blue, I think its chiaro. I have never seen a non metallic blue 308 but I seem to remember seeing one in the blue and orange (elf) colours a free years back in France. Not sure if it was stock with orange stripes or not.

    Hi,

....also just received the Feb. issue of Cavallino.....noticed that in the asking price index, the lower end of early 308 GTBs (steel) increased up to where it should be - $30k (from $25k).....another good sign these cars will get the recognition they deserve.....

    Thanks,

    Anthony

That is hands down, one of the prettiest blues I have seen. I was going to ask if it was metalic, I thought it appeared so.

Which begs the question: if you cant find any good examples of a color, and no information as to its makeup, what would you guys do? I would love to spray the car just like JT's, but, I am thinking I shouldnt. Even if I can spray the car myself, I am thinking I should stay near to the correct paint as close as possible. But damn, those metalic blues are sweet.

Yes I swopped out the US ones with the Euro ones from Butch Hooper. Easy conversion and saved a ton of weight. Am thinking of also adding the Euro spoiler.

Yes its metallic but very subtle, I was looking all over the place for a blue one and then 2 showed up in Atlanta a few years back. One was mine and another was a bit lighter blue like Big Tex's. Not sure who bought it but its the one that is on FML under the 308 classified section.

I think if you look sooner or later you will find another one with your paint code and then be able to exactly match it. Maybe on one of the European Dealer sites. It would be great to see the car back in its original colour especially if its so rare.
