Is a 208 GTS a good buy because its exclusivity, only 140 made.

Or is it a bad investment because lack of power (155hp) and not a beloved car?

    Interested for your input.

    I have no idea.

But it sure would make an interesting addition to your collection. A 208GT4 sitting right next to a 208 GTS? You'd probably be the only guy in the world that has them both. Unique cars.

    Where did you find one?

Dave, the 208gt4 is traded for a Mondial 2 years ago. (see profile)

I think a 208 GTS would probably track below 308 GTS values despite the rarity. The rarity would only add value if it was better than a 308.

Mind you I've always fancied a 208 GTS Turbo, I imagine it to be like a mini 288 GTO?

I am talking about a carbed 208 GTS, not a Turbo. (I wish:))

The performance should not be that different from the GT4.

I have always considered getting the last version - GTS Turbo Intercooler - as they are now eligible to be brought into Canada, have the same power/performance as the 328 and considerably cheaper than it too (even taking into account exchange, shipping and inspection/registration).

One thing I have learned, the 2 litre V8 on 34mm carbs sounds seriously a lot better than a 3 litre on 40mm carbs.

Almost 25 years ago I owned a 208 GT4. I have to admit that it was nice, but I did not really fall in love with it. Too many troubles with carbs (needed a good tuning once every other month) and I swapped it with something else.
I drove the 208 turbo (no intercooler) a couple of times: I do not have good memories. Turbo lag was horrendous, clutch very heavy, a tendency to stall in traffic, etcetera etcetera.
208 Turbo intercooler is a totally different beast. In an old test, Michele Alboreto declared that it preferred the 208 to the 328 because it was more fun. But at lease in Italy prices of 208 Turbo Intercooler is almost the same of a 328 in comparable conditions, that being the reason why I went for the 328.
    Ciao

I have a 208gt4 -76 and a GTB turbo -87. I'm in love with my cars :) The 208gt4 sound so nice and drives very nice at high speed. GTB turbo sound like a jet-fighter and the turbo kicks in hard, at speed it overtakes a 328 any time!

FYI - The 208GTS has less power that the 208GT4.
