How long will you be in Austin? You can join us for one of our monthly cruises through the hill country...

I will be at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort Bastrop/Austin on April 18,19,20,21. I arrive Dallas April 16th (Business)and am available from the 17th on anywhere in between Dallas and Austin. Any feedback on F-car events in the area would be appreciated. I'll have a rental car but......Thanks again Jon in Delaware

Bastrop.... bummer. Well, if you are here on a Saturday, there is a weekly car meet every Sat around 6:00pm - 9:00pm. It's held at an Albertsons grocery store parking lot off 290W and HWY 71. From Bastrop you just drive down the main highway to Austin and straight out to Oak Hill which is at the very South West end of Austin. Typically there is a large group of cars there, generally an older crowed, with no rice burners. Common for exotics to pull in. Saw a nice tuned Ford GT there a few weeks ago, even though the weather was kinda bad. Anyhoo, map and info below to make your trip easier.

Looking at the map, You will be in Bastrop, far Southeast from Austin. Take 71 through Garfield, Del Valley, Sunset Valley and a few miles later, this will put you at the 290/71 split. The Albertsons parking lot is obvious from there. I hope this gives you something car related to do! I know it's a while off, but if you go, let us know and I'm sure a few of us can meet you out there. Enjoy your visit!

*edit* eh, I just loooked at the calender and noticed your last day is Saturday so you may not be able to make the car show. However, you are not far from the airport, so thats convenient. Also, Lost Pines is actually a BEAUTIFUL area for camping/hiking with all their huge pine trees there! (not that you will be doing any camping, but....) Not sure where your hotel is, but you may have some nice scenery. Pine trees are not common for Texas, so it's kinda cool.
