Yes, correct the Orange "S" I had went bye bye to Germany. It is the fact the their EUROS are very strong now and can by a LOT of car here in the USA, MORE than they can get for their money in Germany...and the REST of Europe..

ARE prices are LOW compared to their prices if you equal out the exchange rate...

Today I spoke to Hubert Hahne and he helped confirm what many of us have known for a while: Jota-modified SVs have "Normal SV mechanicals"

In a post in the Countach Reunion thread (post number 901), Craig clearly lets on that some vital aspects of Miura history that have been uncertain even to the most intimate insiders have been cleared up by him and he is in a position to elaborate.
    He asserts that:
    - He definitively knows exactly which car the very first Miura P400S is.
    - He has uncovered that Bertone planned the P400S in advance and prepared ahead for its production.
    - He asserts that he is aware of all the specific upgrades to that first P400S he alludes to.

Naturally, documentary proof of these amazing Miura historical facts is sure to be forthcoming from the ebullient Craig, although it is not quite known when..... On the other hand, failure to provide proof of his bold assertions will expose his claims as nothing more than fanciful posturing, and grandiose personal opinion. One hopes the latter is not the case.

Surely, Craig is as eager to back up his assertions as he has been to make them so Miura enthusiasts everywhere await with bated breath for the revelation of that very first P400S's chassis number......get ready to take note.

    Craig?

Pop quizz for Craig. This should be easy:
    1. Are there cars before production number 276 that left the factory badged as an "S"?
    2. Did these cars have any or all of the S features as we know today?
    3. Did the clever Etienne Cornil come up with the idea of an "S" badge?
    If not who did?
    4. Was Ferruccio informed about this prior or did he delegate such matters?
    5. Did Bertone put the first "S" badge on or did Marchesini do it at Sant Agata?
    6. Who designed the revised trim for the S? Did Paratelli do it or did Gandini do it?
    7. Last but not least: did the two cars attached leave Santa Agata as true Miura S, or just badged as S? Or as P400's with some S-type upgrades?
    * Dont forget the three important questions that need to be answered along with proof in post #344.
Based on the definitive information Craig suggests that he has, Im sure he will be enlightening us momentarily..... Craig? <<The silence is deafening>>

To the above Id like to add: When did Alec Issigonis receive a knighthood and was it because of the mini? LOL.
The profound redundance of the questions posed explains a lot.

Seriously though, Craig, I need your help:
This attached Miura 3312 was delivered to Tobias Steinwinter with the chassis metal gauge/thickness increased to 1.0. This is documented in writing in my 1974 factory official Miura production register as typed up by Ingrid Pussich herself, secretary to long-term sales manager Ubaldo Sgarzi.
BUT, I have a problem I need to figure out. In your infinite Miura wisdom, I know you will have the answer to these so I am asking you:
Did this car have the chassis and suspension upgrades that were to be seen on later cars?
The car's file says the engine was "Spinto" which literally translated is 'pushed' or 'tuned' in Italian. The "S" badge denotes a car that is "Spinto" also. So, is this car an early or prototype P400S?
Did it ever have an "S" badge on its tail?
Did Bertone plan in advance to produce this car any differently from a standard P400?

Please help me Craig. You suggest you know exactly what the spec was for the very first P400S, and that you know what Bertone SpA's planning was for the cars, and that you know all the upgrades ("hundreds" of them), so you must must have the answers to my questions.
Enquiring minds want to know....Craig? Hello?

I could stare at and read about these beautiful cars ad infintum!

Thanks to all who contribute, and please, don't stop!

PS Joe, I'm not sure if it's Bill Rice's car (4906) I saw at the '05 Concorso, but I have pics of a red SV with taillights from the Alfa Berlina / Pantera?! Is this / was this ever a factory fitting?
