Since this is the off topic section.... I liked the coke commercials, coke always makes good ones, and that chevy commercial with T.I. in it! anyone else?
The majority sucked. Judging by the number of local and network spots in the 3rd quarter, looked like they ran short of advertisers. The price might have finally triggered the law of dimishing returns. The best was the same one that won UK commercial of the year in 05 or 06: the Coke commercial about what happens when you put a quarter in the machine. Bud Light spots sucked. The GoDaddy spots sucked. The Budweiser spots were good (the dog). Snickers had a funny spot. Garmin had a good spot. Enough with the American Chopper boys. The Chevy HHR commercial and the one about the robot were good. RMX
Nothing groundbreaking this year. Rock-Paper-Scissors got my nod off the bat and stayed that way. The 2nd half of the K-Fed commercial was a hoot. Low five!
What happened to the one where the guy was going to propose to his girlfriend? I read about it and then heard an interview with the guy on radio. Guy sounded intelligent, urbane and articulate, and most importantly, sincere. Guess it got nixxed by NFL/FCC? Or what happened?
Thanks, just watched a few i missed. It shows the ones from previous years to. I must have missed that one, just watched it. Got a good laugh out of that one.
I liked the Office in the woods one. other than that they were overly bland. FedEx played the same thing as last year Ie the guy getting hit in the last 2-3 seconds of the commercial.
my top 3: 3. The dorito's one where the guy gets into a car accident 2. Snickers: the kiss 1. Budweiser: the rock paper scissors commercial
my honorable mentions: the one with kevin federline, life comes at you fast and the mind of mencia commercial
That Coke ad has been around for half a year, not really new buy most standards. For some reason I wasn't really impressed with a lot of these ads. There were many recycled ideas that lacked true originality & were extremely bland. Maybe I have too much expectation from super bowl ads of the past? Nahh, Im just evolving to a harder demographic to market most of this crap to.
I liked the one with David Beckham when the guy goes "So you play professional football in Los Angeles? That's not going to fly at this party..."
Rock, Paper, Scissors....low five. Doritos - Distraction ......and for some reason, the first Blockbuster commercial where the rabbit and the hampster clicking, then rubbing the mouse back and forth made me laugh.
A friend of mine, Kenny Alphin of contemporary country duo Big & Rich was in the "Ain't we got Love" Chevy commercial...www.bigandrich.com
I was not happy with the Godaddy.com commercial. It was nothing to get exited about. Dam those censors!!
