My seats are showing age, I am going to have them redone. I have a shop in San Deigo that I use for all my interior work, but I am looking outside the box on this one.

Don't burn me at the stake just yet, hear me out first.

I was thinking of having them done in the 'Daytona' style, with the stripes. Would I be nuts? Has anyone else done this? I like the look and it would help the blah/boring plain seats the TR has.

If I am nuts, I guess I will just have them redone in stock trim.

    Thanks,
    TT

Thinking of something like this look, or even putting these seats in.

No angry mob here! I think it looks incredible. Do you have to 'trash' the original seats to do this? Or is it all aftermarket?

If dissing the "originality" is irreversible, then the question is a larger one of course. To my tastes I like it.

If I went with this style of seat (complete new seat), it would simply be a seat replacement. If I had the factory seats recovered in this style, then no, the seat would not be damaged, just a re-skin.

I am having my Cobra seats recoverd exactly like those for my Boxer. I am alo redoing the originals to have if anyone in the future would want to convert back to stock - an issue with a Boxer evidently.

I spoke to those guys about those seats and they said they wanted $4,500 but would take $4000. Actually a pretty reasonable price. My stock Cobras were over $5,000 and to recover them like hat adds quite a premium.
