I feel your pain Eric, I too am in finance and in Vegas and I view it the same way. It has its perks- almost everything is always open- it's fairly clean- weather is nice, but tt has a lot of downside's. Mainly the people. Like any place there are good people here, hell most people came from somewhere else, so they aren't unique to Vegas anyways, but overall this town is filled with snakes, gold diggers, and anyone else looking to make a quick buck. A lot of people move here for the sole reason of accesible gaming. When professional poker or blackjack or sports gambling doesn't pan out, they stick around looking to make a fast dollar in some other avenue. Without money I can't think of too many towns crueler than Vegas, it chews people up and spits em out. It preys on people's weaknesses, gambling, sex, drugs, and any other vice you can think of. And anyone who has run though this viscous cycle here in Sin City isn't likely to lend a helping hand to someone else in the midst of it. It was fun for the first few years, but it gets tired fairly quick, at least for me. Bachelor partys are fun for a weekend, but not 10 weekends in a row. That's was Vegas starts to feel like after a while.
After my first few years here I've just wanted to live on a lake near no one and fish.

if i played poker then it would be great here, but try and imagine what it would be like living here if you wernt playing poker, and the joints didnt exist, we would all either be at PT's or Wal-Mart enjoying the great weather, both seasons too hot and too cold. But if you like action they its Mecca I out grew that, I never played poker or gave casinos action, i was a pool player and Vegas is a tough town for that, i did ok but I didnt like the way my life was going, I can beat a single deck 21 game but i'm barred downtown where there a couple tables left. I just got burned out with action in general, up down up down, but i'm happy for you and win the Main Event next year, do you have any braclets?

    Eric,

You say that there are some people in Vegas which require that you keep a gun under your pillow and armed security guards. It seems you know that to be true, yet you drive the flashiest cars and live in the flashiest house.

It's your life and you can do what you want - of course - but it doesn't sound like a brilliant move to have to fear about your safety and at the same time take steps to gain even more attention and generate even more insecurity. Do you get what I mean?

True but cars are a passion for most of us, not a step to gain attention. Why miss out on that passion? Regardless i know what you are saying. That is unfortunately just life though as we know it. :(

That's the kind of bold flavor they enjoy in... Albuquerque!

Very nice collection, Eric. I can only hope through hard work and high margins that my efforts will pay off half as well as yours have done. The fly yellow Enzo is exactly the car that I will buy as soon as humanly possible.

    Eric,

You have a fabulous collection! Keeping that yellow Ferrari in check by surrounding it with all those Lamborghini's eh? Horses get nervous surrounded by a corral of snorting bulls. You should know that by now. LOL.

But the collection begs the all-important question: WHERE are the old classics??

    very nice collection !!!

Eric about the jealousy mechanics, I suspect that once someone thinks he has reached the top of his possibilities in terms of survival or reproduction, he starts to get nervous and wants to get people above him down.

That's why hope or illusion of a better world is an essential part of a good mass control.

the simple expression of something like "I don't like your collection" actually meaning, I don't like you being more brilliant than I am, is a proof of bad performance.

my house isnt visable from the street, the entry gates look like ****, its very well hidden,

i sleep with the 45 because i hire people from the hood I have 6000-7000 W2's every year All I need is one pissed off person and game over, I dont drive much in Vegas during the day I drive a pick-up, only at night going to dinner do I drive any good cars and most of my drivable collection in in LA, thats why it was hard to get the photo shoot done rounding up all the cars, you dont have the whole picture, i'm a private person and dress badly you would never know I had a dime unless you see what I own on the net, BTW I spent less than 4 months in Vegas last year I hate it there, I havent been to my business in about 10-11 months.

Great collection...the Enzo is the centrepiece for me .. excellent taste, LV Eric.

as far as the safety issue, maybe you should move to Canada...Vancouver, specifically. ;)

(Confession: My motives are a bit selfish..I'd love to see that car collection roaming our local streets!!)

we have a bunch of the higher profile Hollywood folks living here without attracting too much of the wrong type of attention, and they don't have to worry about the security issues, hell, our border patrol agents don't even carry guns, so not too much to worry about around here...

On a serious note..is the crime rate that high in Vegas?..I have visited a few times, and I hadn't given it alot of thought while I was there, as a naive Canadian....
