Those fuel injection set-ups look funny to me......

Couldn't somebody take it off and make it carbed?
    Would it be worth it?

Rex Greenslade of MOTOR magazine promised LP400 owner Noel Gibbs that they would use it "with discretion and care" when they borrowed his LP400 for this road test.... :-0

That's my point, the car on ebay is 20 min from where I live...they sell old hot rods. They know absolutly nothing about exotics let alone a Countach, so again anyone here that would pay more than 70K for that car? Forget the BS bidding under the reserve....buy a Countach from a place like that and get nothing but in way over your head.

    hello everyone,

    I hope all is well.

I have been quite busy as of late and just had the time to check back in on lamborghinichat.

I share some confusion I have though.

What the heck is going on with the S1,S2, and I can't belive I'm saying it, S3 cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a time to be politically correct and then there is being so accomadating to political preasures that ones statements no longer share credibility. The thing about being a leader is that sometimes you have to choose the lesser of two eviels and stand behind your descision, not because it is easy but because it is just simplly correct.

With the above in mind the whole deal on the "S" cars is out of control and a mess. To my knowledge THE SINGLE MOST DESCRIPTIVE FEATURE OF A COUNTACH AND SECOND ONLY TO THE BUTTERFLY DOORS THEMSELVES IS THE lp400 PERISCOPE ROOF CARS AND THE LOW ROOF CARS, S1 AND S2, ARE A MAJOR IMPROVEMENT OVER S3 CARS.

IN A SEA OF COUNTACHES THE ONLY MAJOR STRUCTUAL COSMETIC AND APPERIANCE CAHANGES ARE, 1 EARLY PERISCOPE CAR, 2 LOW ROOF CARS, 3 HIGH ROOF, 4 ANNIVERSARY PACKAGE.

COLLECTABILITY WISE YOU HAVE 300 PERISCOPE/LOW ROOF CARS IN LIGHTWEIGHT, THEN YOU HAVE THE OTHER 1,000 PLUS BIG BODY COUNTACHES, C'MON PEOPLE COLLECT CARS ON THE FOLLOWING: LOOKS, RARITY, PERFORMANCE, NOTARIATY. WITH THAT IN MIND THINK ABOUT IT THE FIRST 300 COUNTACHS ALL LOOK BETTER WITH THERE PERISCOPE OR LOW ROOFS, THEY REPRESENT ONLY 20% OF TOTAL PRODUCTION, THEY WHEIGH A GREAT DEAL LESS AND PERFORME IDEALY, AND OH ONE MORE THING, THEY WERE THE LAST CARS MADE BEFORE THE OLD MAN SOLD OUT COMPLETELY AND THE COMPANY WENT BANKRUPT! ANYONE WHO DOES NOT VALUE YOU THESE THINGS IS ON AN ISLAND KNOWN AS THE BEGINNING OF COLLECTING CARS WITHOUT USING COMMON SENCE. I SAY ALL OF THIS OWNING A QV DOWNDRAFT CAR MIND YOU

I know Joe I'm using CAPS again, but this time I'am shouting. Im sorry what others are doing to the truth.

To take something as well earned as Joe's knowledge of these cars, something as loved and respected as lamborghinichat and the lamborghiniregistry and water them down with "cover ups" is an insult not only to afficinados, and collectors, but more importantly to the history of the truth itself and the badge of lamborghini!

Before all you conservitists throw tomatos please ask some in the group to comment on #1121102, a car that used to show a picture on the registry of it in ORIGINAL BRAVO wheel guise, and now the registry has deleted this period picture, now only showing the car MODIFIED WITH QV WHEELS AND SIDE SKIRTS, now heres the problem with a "cover up" move like that, what if several years down the road someone buys that car and beats it to death and does not restore it to original now we are throwing away history, heritage, and the respect a proper bull deserves

Remember my friends the raging bull is the guy with a pair of balls, otherwise we are all just riding around on a bunch of cows.

    Best regards,

    Arthur

(huge fan of ALL countaches, the chat, the registry & above all THE TRUTH)

I enjoyed reading your post. I agree with your comments.

In addition, those beautiful Bravo wheels (while mechanically insignificant), certainly make the lowbody lightweight S1 cars look absolutely magnificent. - I am not taking anything away, from the 1980/1981 cars with my view.

Ok, maybe I'm in the minority, but to me I find the whole problem about how to deal with this intriguing. It certainly brings owners together and creates much conversation. To me it's interesting and has the added flair of mystery. In a perfect world it might be nice to have very defined lines about the different models being backed up with all company records, but this seems more typical of Lamborghini......who else could have ended up in such a situation? Fire over the engine room, lost records, someone leaving the company unhappy about the changes to the car he helped develope, S1 S2 S3, financial struggle, current owners comparing measurements and vins.....plus input from people who were there long ago, making the machines we are crazy about today! I will be happy like everyone else when these questions are put to rest (as much as possible anyway), but I'll miss it a little too because this is interesting enough to get many owners involved and asking questions while sharing feelings. I guess the day will come when all available info is compiled and put on the "Registry" (sorry Joe, but that seems to be the generally accepted gospel for everyone, and I don't think anyone wants to try to compile as much info as you can find there), but for now I think this is Great! Just the fact that all this is being addressed is monumental...I'm hoping to see how the rest of this unfolds and what else we can learn about these cars.
