2. If you absolutely have to, don't remove shields, man!

 

Agree, *especially* about the shields. You NEVER, EVER remove Ferrari shields!! That's insane! That's *almost* as bad as PUTTING Ferrari shields on a non-Ferrari (that is the ULTIMATE no-no).

That said, that is ONE HOT 599... Jesus that's a sick looking car...

 

while i wouldn't remove all the badges, adding the tuner isnt bad, as for "never modifying a ferrari" i dont stand by that, if its a historicly signifigent or limited production (F50, 288 GTO or the likes) sure due to its worth in historic standpoint. I have nothing against modification of a "run of the mill" ferrari. Im actually looking to get a early model 360 and going nuts with it

i disagree.

i have ferrari (with shields) and see no reason not to place one on my other cars ie. on rear liftgate of wifes range rover.

dont forget, ferrari is 1st and foremost a f1 sports team. stickers are a show of support for your team. no different than yankee sticker on your car.

 

I am sure they did it for licensing reason but they didn't remove the shields and badge, but photoshopped them out for the pictures. If you notice there is not one badge front or rear. Yet in picture 8 there is a badge on the nose. They forgot to photoshop that one. I am sure they do it so they aren't using the Ferrari badges. I remember an article on the twin turbo F50. Every badge, emblem and logo, even on the steering wheel was cover with black electrical tape for the photos.

 

Slightly off topic but the 599 looks better without shields. My Dad left them off on his and the car looks fantastic.

It's the first one built in Grigio Ingrid (so they said at the factory when he picked it up anyway),

I'll post pics when the weather in the UK is nice enough to get the car out of the garage without it being covered in salt.

It really is stunning car imo, just dont like that they take off all the badges and replace them with their own.

 

I agree, Rush. It's almost as if they are taking credit for the whole car. Granted, the car looks great, but it looked incredible before they touched it!

 

First of all, it's just my opinion, I certainly can't actually tell you whether to keep, remove, or put shields on another car, so I hope no one takes my comments that way.

That said, there is a BIG difference between putting a Ferrari sticker on your non-Ferrari car bumper as a sign of your "admiration" for the marque, and these (again, in my opinion) F*ing idiots who slap Ferrari badges all over their Fieros or Vettes or whatever in the ridiculous, slightly nuts hope that somehow someone will think it is an Fcar... Frankly, I (again, personally), think this is disgraceful...

My guess is the Ferrari sticker on the lift gate of your wife's RR is probably very tastefull and looks pretty cool, but that's not what I'm really referring to... Hope I cleared things up a bit...

 

hamann makes the ugliest body kits --- I only like their wheels

 

it's all relative...some markets, lots of individuals like things that others may consider 'tacky' or too extroverted...if they were really 'ugly' in any universal sense R H would be broke wouldn't he me, i don't particularly like 'tack ons'. on the other hand, some of the redesigned replacement kits out there are ok, but not anything to write home about.

 

Ugly ... such an exclusive and elegant car (originally) ... But with that bodykit, like a clown ... :-/

 

I would never do this but considering Hammann's history of vulgarity with Ferraris, this is very well done. I think it would only work in Nero, however.

I could see certain owners in LA or FL doing this because there are so many Ferraris and the desire to stand-out would be great.
