I've found a couple companies that rent out Ferraris, but unfortunately I've never been to Germany (obviously while I'm there, I'd like to ensure I'm making the most of my trip!!) and I want to find a respectable company to work with who will not take advantage of me for being a tourist.

    Can anyone make some recommendations?

I will be flying into Frankfurt on March 25th and will only be there for 2 days before hitting my connector to Niece.

    Thanks for your help everyone!

    Thank you very much!

btw- since my german is pretty much limited to "hello", "goodbye" and "thank you"...

I'm assuming the price for a 1 day rental is 980 euros on the f430 spyder??

If so... that IS very competitive!

also- how much of a security deposit did you have to put down?

...or do they make you purchase insurance for a day (and assumingly the fee is not included in the 980E?)

Last... any other restrictions I should know about? For example... if I was to swing by the 'ring' for a day... would they throw a tissy?

They assume and suspect many clients do abuse their cars (my rented 355 was in turn rented to a Japanese guy who proceeded to decapitate himself in it within a day ,back in 2000).
They have our Military Gay Policy ,"don't tell,don't....",
so do what you want ,just don't brag about it to their agent and don't ask him for directions to the Ring.
My Amex was used as a deposit and the slip was destroyed after return of the car.
    Have fun.

perfect! That's what I was hoping for! (Except the decapitated part! poor guy)

Being that the cars are driven like they are stolen... as any rental in this world typically is... did it feel like it was beaten into the ground... or did it still have that good ol' quality I'm used to? I suppose it won't matter eitherway, because beggars can't be choosers... but just for curiosities sake.

Try getting a newer model ,just because of that reason.
355 was in pretty good shape,550 had high miles (55k kms) and was pretty worn out ,with overheating in bad traffic of St Tropez.
575 on the other hand was almost brand new ('03 Summer rental)

I have heard that a few companies actually put head hunters out at the Ring looking for rental cars. I heard though, that it was companies like Hertz and Avis, ect. I'm assuming the Ferrari's won't have a big "IM RENTED" sticker somewhere on it...

Do you remember them specifically saying "don't go to the 'ring" or if there was a fine for doing so?

    Thanks!

    It's a small company,so no "head hunters".
All they do is check for signs of physical damage to exterior.
I'm sure there is something in their small print forbiding use on race tracks etc but it was not stressed or implied to me.

As far as my German allows me to make out... there's a 200km/day limit, then you pay 2,50euro for every km extra. The "Selbstbeteiligung/Kaution" is also the deposit you have to lay down (I think).

EDIT - this applies of course to the company someone posted earlier ;)
