There are really too many differences to list, so instead I'll focus on the one thing they have in common-> You'll be 70 before you can afford either one.

I gotta stop with my ********* comments. Now I just feel like a *****. I was in a bad mood yesterday: Two girls I am dating are trying to go all serious on me. Hate it when that happens!

The difference is 70, mathematically. Seriously though, there are several styling differences, but the 430 is really an evolution of the 360 which was a totally new design when it came out. The cost of a 430 varies from the lower $220k range up to the $350k range for the dreamers. 360 prices are in the $105k up to around $240k as the highest asking price, so the difference is around $90 - 100k. If you are seriously considering buying one of them you should go to a dealer and check them out side by side.

    I loved my 2003 360 Modena 6 speed. I traded the 360 in for a 2006 F430 F1 three months ago. I love both cars.

The F430 has more horsepower, no rubber belts etc but i am assumming you want the intangible differences you can only tell from driving and owning both not a spec comparison.

I did not like the F1 on the 360 which is why i bought a 6 speed. The F1 on the F430 is better.

The F430 has a much better sound althought both make your hairs tingle. The 360 did not feel much slower than the F430 maybe the 6 speed enhances the "hot rod" feel. The handling on the F430 is better, it feels lighter and more responsive. The interesting thing is the 360 in comparrison does not feel like a dated chasis only tuned different. Both are satisfying cars to drive. Both have given me perfect reliability.

The interior and placement of switchs is better than the 360. Most people cannot tell the differerence between the cars. I like that ferrari got rid of the: push key and you have 120 seconds to start the car feature. The f430 you just start like any other car. Both cars have a very comfortable cockpit but the F430 is better designed and more ergonomic. It is just a better place to be in. I love the yellow tack and the way it lights up. it is neat! I also like the switch on the steering wheel to change the drive characteristics.

My 360 after sitting for a week or two would start up perfectly. The F430 may take a second longer to catch and when it does it may not stay running past a second. it usually lights at the second try. That may be more an issue with my car as oppposed to the engine design. The 360 ligther socket stays on when the ignition is turned off. This is great to trickle charge. The F430 ligther socket goes dead when the ignition is off. No problem only means you either buy the clunky ferrari charger or install a pigtail at the battery. That is easy to do.

I would own either car. if i could not find a F430 I would own a 360 again or to save money a 360 convertible versus a F430 coupe. The F430 is a better car but the 360 still compares to other cars very well.

    I hope that helps.

Yes, the F430 has more ponies, slightly better ergonomics, and is the flavor of the day, but I just got rid of my F1 spider and bought another 360spider (6sp). This is my 5th 360 (2 coupes, 2 spiders, and one CS). I think the F430 is too loud and while the F1 is the best yet (I've had 3 F1's, including the Stradale), I still prefer to row my own (ok, so I'm getting old!). I also think that the 360 is a prettier car (zipping up my flame suit!) and generally "friendlier" to drive. In addition to the 360, I also got a '05 996 Turbo S (making for a complete collection of Turbo S's) and a '71 280SL, and I STILL have some change left!! I don't know if I would have done the trade if my 430 had been a 6sp, but I figure when the next "must have" comes along, I'll be able to pick up a 6sp 430 for a lot less than MSRP! Ok, flame suit is fully zipped!!! Bring it on!!!

To add to what's been said, the F430's engine is a new design related to the engine used in maseratis, rather than an evolution of the 360's, which was an evolution of the 355's 5 valve engine (f430 has 4 valves per cylinder.) The f430 also has the Manettino on the sterring wheel, which lets you change the traction control settings. Many reviews of the car(f430) have said that it is less "twitchy" at the limit.

Dude....we've covered this before: STOP buying Girl Scout cookies!!!! :) :) :) :)

Keepin' it simple: the 430 has more power, more aggressive looks and they got the electronics/ suspension and a few other things a bit more dialed-in. Worth the difference in price? Not really...but since when has rational decisions ever been a part of Ferrari ownership ;)

thx for the info guys, erm, instead of the normal way of openning a car door, is it possible to install like a scissors door for a f430/360 ?? i like the way enzo cars open their doors, its just so cool. and if u guys had an option and had to choose one of it, would u rather choose a spyder 360 or a f430 coupe ?? just askin btw, =x

I'm just winging it...but my hunch is that the next question from this guy will be which hottie looks best in the passenger seat? :)

I live in Cali and love convertibles......my avatar has my choice. And just thinking ahead, right now I've got a thing for Shania Twain so I'm seeing her in the passenger seat but she ain't strokin' a guitar ;)

    Oh yes, I went there........:)

Wads the diff between asking the 'same old questions' and getting very limited responses in this post and doing a search on those 'same old questions' and getting a wealth of interesting responses and detailed information by folks who responded first, second and third time around?

    Good question.

The 6 speed on Ferrari's I have driven or owned is okay but not world class. My 2003 360 was a 6 speed because the F! on that design was to abrupt for my tastes.

The F430 F1 while it is not as smooth as a Buick it very good. My F430 is a F1. The 6 speed gives more of a hot rod feel the F1 car is faster.

My dealer said most people can shift a gear manually in 200 milli sec. The f430 F1 in race mode does in in 20 m-s and in sport mode is 100 m-s.

I do not know if these are the right numbers but they seem to be directionaly okay.
