    Thinking about upgrading to both. Anybody got a hookup / good deal to share?

    {Shivam, still evaluating bro, not going to upgrade to Vista for sure.. - :)}

    Make sure you have fast 3d video card and 2gb of ram to have that monster running smooth...

    I don't know that one place is "better" then another. The only way you can save a few bucks is if you can buy the Academic Edition (you need a valid student id usually), otherwise anywhere from BestBuy to NewEgg will be the same. Make sure if you have XP and Office 2K3, you buy the upgrade and not the full install.

    Newegg is where I bought OEM Ultimate. Cheaper than the upgrade. Still waiting for Office OEM.

    I am usually the first nerd in line to upgrade to the latest-and-greatest, and I installed Office 2007 last week and removed it less than 30 minutes later.

    Call me old fashioned, but it is WAY overkill...

    I was running Win98SE on one of my machines up until Christmas simply because it ran faster than XP. I tried Vista a couple months ago on another machine & vista hated most of my hardware & was pretty slow so off it came. Unfortunately, Microsoft marches on and we'll all need to install Vista sooner or later. I guess for me it'll be after SP#1.

    Just get a mac. Windows sucks. Chuck norris uses a mac and roundhouse kicks windows machines.

    In all honesty, PCs and windows blows.

    I agree with Shivam. I would love to switch to Mac. It's more reliable and better designed. No hardware problems. Mac OS is way more stable and more efficient. But all those goodies come with high price tag.

    BTW: Microsoft is trying to achieve the same effect with Vista as Apple did 2 years ago with Mac OS X. Kinda too late... as always...
