I think I have a mint one (US '83 308: all amber) if you'd like to borrow it. PM me if you do. They show up occationally on e-bay. I suspect someone had a batch made then sold them there.
OK, I've got them on my 'to make' list. It's going to be mid winter before I can get to it as It looks like I've got all my mold making time booked thru at least turkey day. Doesn't help that I'm going to be in India for 3 weeks in late October training some engineers on my my 8-6 job...
Hey Verell any update on the new (to be made) 328 fog lamps? Looking for right front. Have been looking for some time and have nearly exhausted all leads. It would make a nice Christmas present
Before the weather gets too nice and the cars come out to play, is their anyone in Verells neighborhood that would be willing to let him make molds from your 328 fog lamp. I pm'd him and he said he would need your lamp for appx. 1-4 weeks. Looking for best possible lamp for best results. Many members on this board looking for replacements. I particulary am looking for the r/h lamp. Sadly I have exhausted all leads and have been searching for months now. Still looking for wrecks as well.
Mine are very rock pitted as well, I'd let him borrow mine if we were closer. Put me on the list for new ones as well. I've got mine covered in the plastic film but that's no guarantee. Jeff
If anybody is going to reproduce one please count me in! Here's a picture of mine. I would also be interested in the turn sinal, also NLA I've tried every possible place, including a not so happy mail to Ferrari. I can't see how they run a certification and restoration program if they don't have parts like this one. Add to the list of Warm up Regulators, bypass valves, etc. The real bad thing is that you won't be able to use your car because it will no longer pass inspection Image Unavailable, Please Login
Did you try these guys? www.eurospares.co.uk They're in the UK but they seem to have them in stock at 180 GBP. Maybe give them a call if you're really desperate.
Thank you very much for the tip ! I've just ordered both turn signals (amber/yellow) and left driving light. Let's see if they really have them in stock. They are also listed at www.ferrariowners.com at the same price, but when you try to order them it is NLA ...
They're still on my list, but there's a Catch 22: I need to borrow L & R ones for 2, maybe 3 weekends to use as patterns to make the molds. Making the mold won't harm them. Until I can borrow some I can't make any progress.
Hi, just as a quick FYI, at least on my 328, the turn signal tri-bulb assembly is all amber/orange, whereas on those pictures (I think on Euro models maybe?) only the outer third is amber.
I guess I will join your support group.. Hi my name is JJ and my lenze on my passenger side is addicted to Crack. The rock chip is about the size of a Dime. I will need a new one eventually... JJ
Y'all should use Verell on this one. Originals will cost a bloody fortune, if you can even find them.
Just for info. It seems that I have been able to find a euro version. #61733000 LH FRONT LIGHT (NOT US & F & RHD SPEC) and #61732900 RH FRONT LIGHT (NOT US & F & RHD SPEC). If anyone is interested, I could contact the seller and ask the price. I am in no way interested in selling, making a profit etc etc. Ciao Eugenio
It would be interesting to know what the differences are. I wouldn't mind the euro look as long as fit and function were correct. If you could find out more information I would be interested. Thank you
The friend is my mechanic. He does not speak English, so he is not intervening in person on the net. During a phone call today (I am in India for business and he is working on my car in Italy) he just mentioned that he has piles of new parts in his shop and that he could be interested in selling them as age is suggesting to slow down with work. At a specific question (I had this thread in mind) he answered that yes, he thinks he has the lights. I will be back in Italy on the 23rd, only then I will be able to personally check. If he has a proper list (knowing him, I doubt... ), I will post the unobtanium parts in FerrariAds for him. Ciao Eugenio
From what I have been able to see visually, the only difference is the amber lens on US versions is full across the top. Euro versions have a small corner of amber. If this is the only difference I am definately interested. Thank you Eugenio. Looking forward to f-ads.
Folks -- the amber sections at the top of the 328 lights ARE available. It's the full glass assembly that is a bear to locate. If the guy in Europe has them, then somebody should jump quickly. Retail, they're quite easily worth $1000-$1200 each. On the upper plastic lens there are orange/orange and orange/white versions. First picture shows the stuff that is available; second shows the assembly that is very hard to find. On the lower glass unit, there are US, Euro, RHD, and France versions. Eugenio, I would be very interested in a left driving light, and I'm in europe (Portugal) Could you please confirm the availability ? You can PM me if you like Thank you very much Rui
No chance. They are available online but when you do order it you get a "sorry, no longer available" reply .... I'll keep trying ... Rui
Hi Guys, One of my previous cars was a Lotus 7 Replica, and they have a big problem with stone damage on the rear guards. I used some 3M clear film with much success. The film comes with a good adhesive on the back, but to get it to mold to the shape you want, you put some detergent/ water on the adhesive to enable you to move it around to the correct position, then dry it and mold it to shape with a hot air gun or a hairdryer, then leave in the sun for a few hours. I also used it on convex Cibie headlight lenzes. Check also with the flying crowd as there is a very strong film (I think 3M) which is used on timber laminated aero propellors on older planes. After reading this thread I am definitely fitting some on my 328 foglights. There is also another brand here is Aus, called Polaris Stone Guard. which is slighly thinner. Should be available in the USA Hope this will help you guys. Cheers, Ross
