not sure who paid for breakfast but if you did, thanks Audi. good to see a 308 join us. getting a bit bored of these gcars! Jon, i will be out of town next couple of days, pick up the equipment from you when i get back. rara, you can't have an oktoberfest without a fraulein. got me all excited for nothing...
this exchange reminds me of that old joke that the only car ever mentioned in the bible is a honda - "and the disciples went off in one accord...". yup, i know, quite corny...
Has anyone owned or tested the Cayenne Turbo? I tested it yesterday... very powerful car. Very well appointed interior too. I have to admit that the fixtures and build quality is first rate. Itchy!
Subhas more suited to you, the resemblance between the 2 of you is uncanny, esp his beard and your (futile) attempt to grow a goatee...
Subhas ususally handles the "no chance" type case... death penalty, drug trafficing, murder, pedophile, u get the picture.
I drove the cayenne turbo in Malaysia several years ago when it first was introduced. Speed and power were my impressions, as well as bona fide off road abilities. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the interior which felt distinctly cheap. The air con vents for example felt cheap esp when compared to the Touareg and even cheaper cars like hatchbacks (such as the VW GTi). My impression of the cayenne at this time is that its past its prime somewhat, compared to say the Range Rover Sports which is clealy the 4 x 4 of the moment, especially when its filly kitted, supercharged and in white.
Hi Mr. Lung, we did some financing for some Cayenne, have to check my records. I did hear a client mention that there would be a new model soon? Not too sure if it is correct.
Yes there will be a face lift version. Coming to Singapore within the next 3 months max if I remember right. Many pics of the car already circulating in magazines and on the net.
i have to confess that when i test drove the cayenne, i did so not wanting to like it. tested becos of my persistent and friendly porsche salesperson. have to say that like you, i was quite impressed, particularly with the power and the handling. trouble is, i still can't get to grips with the image. a bit too sloaney, if you know what i mean.
mike, seeing as i know the both of them, i think the comparison is quite insulting, especially to subhas, hahaha. sorry about the on-off-on-off stuff yesterday, need to knock my brother's head. thanks for all the help though, much appreciated.
It was my pleasure to have met you guys finally! Look forward to the next meet if I'm in town and hope to meet the others like Lung. Water hose leaked on the way back, lucky near home. Looks like M'sia drive will be out until the engine hoses arrive (out of stock). Like I said, it's still a "getting to know the car" stage at the moment. Next round of work, replace front/rear calipers + handbrake and drilled pedals. Parts in by this week hopefully. The view of the 2 Lambos in front was nice but the rear view of 3 red Fcars and a lovely AM running tailgunner was amazing! If only I could capture that on film. Thanks again guys and till we meet the next time round.
No prob at all, Des, please spare your brother's head. So where are you off to the next 2 days? To hide your head under a rock after Saturday's Tyneside disaster?
