Is it any wonder that you were distracted, poor attention or not. That sweet face could make you reinstall your engine IN THE FRONT:)

    Cheers, Hank

Please use this with some caution. It is a diagram that I made from a Jarama cylinder, but I do believe that they may actually be the same part. In the diagram, the booster would be on the right.

Ooops! They can't be the same part. The Jarama has remote boosters so the actuation of the cylinder will be different, but I do think that the cylinder internals may be the same. I did a 365 C/4 a while ago and I seem to remember using this diagram as a reference. I looked through my notes and can't find a separate diagram for the Ferrari. I would normally make another if the assembly was different. Again, use the information with caution.

Someday I have to get organised. I did find my notes on the C/4. The cylinders are all a little different, but very similar at the same time. I enclose the diagram for the C/4. It is very similar in layout to yours and I think that it might offer better guidance than the other diagram. Again, use any of this information with great caution.

Sowest, thanks for the drawings but i don't believe either appertain to my car, These photo's show how i think it should go but in the third photo i am showing the smaller piston of the two which i think its cutout groove shown must line up with the banjo fitting which protudes into the piston cavity of the casting. this fitting fits in the second from right hole on the top picture of the cylinder casting, the left hand side is the side to which the slave piston/resovoir fits. Can anybody confirm or deny????

I think that I might finally have something that will help. The picture is of a cylinder that I just took apart from a Ghibli. It is Bonaldi and the body and internals look just like yours. The body does have side exit outlet ports, but that should make no difference. In this cylinder (and the others) the light spring rests directly against the pressure output rubber seal. The steel cup at one end of the light spring rests on the end of the heavy piston return spring. The heavy piston return spring always pushes the relevant piston back towards the booster.

I am quite sure that the assembly shown in your picture is wrong.

Mike/Graham. Are they just O-rings? Nothing special?

I've got a ton of those in varying sizes, what's the OD, ID and thickness?

Wouldn't standard butyl or neoprene O-rings be adversly affected by glycol based brake fluid, resulting in swelling and sealing loss?
Viton might work, but I'll bet the correct material is made out of EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer), sames as flexible brake lines.

Lines/O-rings for brakes, fuel, and water are different.
