Bernie Ecclestone has been quoted as saying: "I wouldn't like to put my money on anybody, but I think if I had to, I would probably put it on Massa.

"You've got to have a whole package, it's not just the driver but a package."

When it comes to predicting racing out comes in F1, Bernie is not often wrong !

On the one hand, Bernie does have a lot of money so he can afford to lose some....

On the other hand, when Nelson Piquet first came up I thought he was going to suck; once the Brabham came good so did Nelson-Bernie does have a decent eye for talent so maybe he sees/knows something we don't. I was feeling good about Massa also until Hungary and Monza...

My money would be on Massa over Raikonen. Don't know about Massa taking the whole thing though - there is gonna be close competition this year.

All kidding aside, I believe Massa is an excellent driver who is definitely WC material in a different team, with a different team mate (like Renault/Fisi or Honda/Button). But at Ferrari, I think Kimi will just be too strong for him like Michael was. After all, all of the Michael haters kept saying he retired because he knew Kimi would beat him. If that's the case, how can Kimi not beat Massa when Michael crushed him last year?

The only complaints that Kimi has had is over the Bridgestone Control Tyre not suiting his driving style. No worries he will adapt.

All kidding aside, my dog has greater potential to win the WDC than Massa.

Fisi destroyed Massa when they were teammates together. Pair him with Button in a Honda and he will fare even worse than Rubens.

As much as I have always liked Fisi in the past, and rated him as high as anyone, I doubt he is the driver he used to be after two confidence destroying years at Renault.

It sounds like you have a very cool dog though :)

I would, but I don't want Williams to file a complaint with the FIA. Something about each dog owner having to use a dog from his own litter or something like that :p

Bernie's opinion is worth what you paid for it.

If I had a dollar for everytime Bernie said something erroneous, I'd have enough to buy a Ferrari.

    I have a 360 F1 Spider. Never mind.

Life is a b*tch (female dog) for the first 100 years, after that it's all downhill.

    You are joking, right ?

Folks come to Ferrari to win championships, Kimi could have gone anywhere or stayed put as McLaren's #1 driver, but he moved.

I am betting on Massa to save Ferreri in 2007. More than any other driver, he has the heart to win. And he will have the equipment.

Kimi will have a serious learning curve, more than some of you have anticipated. Is he better than Massa? Sure. But for 2007, he does not have the drive, the heart that Massa will demonstrate.

McLaren's number one driver with a two time champ coming aboard? No way, it would have been a hard fight with Alonso, and that's just within the team, if the car was shyte again this year why even bother. Neither JPM nor Kimi wanted to drive with Alonso, but i doubt it was fear of losing to him, it was Ron Dennis' arrogance bringing him into the team when the drivers were not the problem. I don't blame Kimi or JPM for leaving. Where else other than Renualt could Kimi of gone and still had a shot at the title? The Kimi/Ferrari deal was done a long time ago.

MS was not worried about Massa being on the team, he put him there.
He WAS worried about KR, enough to proposition a "me or him" deal.
Ferrari picked "him". Am I being clear ?

Not what happened. Even Kimi's manager stated there was no issue for Michael having Kimi on the team, only his family's desire to have him retire now and not in 2007.

As for those of you that question Massa's talent, you should apply for the position that Todt vacated on the Ferrari team, so you can prove him wrong in resigning Felipe for two more years. Apparently you know more than Todt, Montezemelo, and Schumacher combined. Just keep thinking Constructor's Championship, Constructor's Championship, Constructor's Championship, and how "unimportant" that is to Ferrari so as to pick Massa.

Would that be the same Todt and Montezemolo that wanted to replace Massa with Rossi?

And the same Todt and Montezemolo that wanted Schumacher to drive alongside Kimi instead of Massa?

Seems to me that Ferrari doesn't think as highly of Massa's talents as you do...

Why do you keep ****ting on Massa? It's no secret that both Schumacher and Raikkonen are more talented than him, no one is disputing this. He's a nice guy, so why the bashing?
