Went with a mate of mine to collect his new 355 today. This car is very interesting dude to the fact that its a 1995 model and was ordered from the factory with a one of modification. It belonged to a fashion designer who saw the F50s recessed metal wing badges and wanted them on her 1995 2.7 355GTS. So the factory did this for her.
This was not a factory option at the time in 1995 and it would be another 4 years before it would be done on the last 100 355s the Fioranos. So could this be the earliest example of Factory recessed metal badges on a 355??? The badges sit flush as per F40/F50s, not recessed yet raised as per todays cars.
I shall be adding this cars numbers to the 355 register;)

Looks really weird with the side marker light in front of the wheel. I'm glad we don't have those in the U.S...

The shields are much lower than on the Fiorano. I like them better higher.

They look really strange, almost as though they weren't done in the factory.

On my 348GTC, where the shields were standard on all 50 cars, the side markers light is underneath the shield, which are raised, and not recessed...

I agree on the side indicator lights look odd. But at the time of when the 355s were made the F50 came out with recessed badges. And respectfully your car is a 348 not a 355. The history is what it is. Although i would have thought the indicator would have been bellow the badge me self.
MB: If any one knows any FACTS about this car that would be great.

Its a very interesting arrangement for sure. Wonder how much it cost? And why they didnt do it in the convention of the GTC?

The fully flush shields look amazing.

Too bad about their F40 landing itself in a field.

For information it is possibke for a good panel shop to do the recess panel on any Ferrari, but doing so would require the panel also be repainted. This has been done on a number of cars here in Singapore that did not originally come from the factory with the stamped recessed scuderia shields.
