Hi Guys, Camillo (a sexy 348 tb red) is ill (and I am stupid!!!) Yesterday, enterign the garage ramp, i hit the bottom of the bumper to the ground; and the bumper, I may assume for the bending, was cracked on the red plaster that cover the fiber glass. It seems I have not damaged the fiber glass, but just caused a detach of pieces of plaster. It's horrible, I have now a vertical "crack" all over the bumper, from the lights to the bottom, plus some big pieces of plaster detacched on the bottom, wher ethe bumper was hit. Please help me: will it be repaired (re-adjusting the plaster and painting it) or it will be substitued? If repaired, will it come back as nice as before? How much do I have to expecet to pay in both cases? Sorry Camillo, I didn't want to hit you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude, take it to paintshop and get a quote. No big deal. Cost ya a couple of hundred to respray. Welcome to Ferrarichat by the way.
Thanks Pap. I am new here and new ferrari owner! (with not a good start I would say...). But i have aready strongly leveraged the expertise here before the purchase! It s not only to be repainted: some pieces of plaster are cracked and detacched (on the bottom and on the rift). I'll try to post a picture.
Try and post a pic. But a paintshop is your best bet for a quote or repair. Even if the fibreglass is cracked, it can be repaired mate. You will have to try and take it easier from now on. Congrats on the 348 purchase. Ferrarichat is a great place to do some homework on the Ferrari you want before you purchase it. Good choice the 348 because they are awesome cars!!
Paperino's right mate, don't panic. I think it's true to say that most of us have done something similar, in my case it happens frequently as I live in a village with bumpy, pot holed roads although I haven't cracked it right to the lights before. It won't be a problem for a good local body shop it will probably come back better than before. If you have any other small stone chips on the front wings or front of the car under or around the bonnet nows the time to get those done as well. You haven't posted a picture so I don't know but if your car still has the matt black lower front spoiler and sills get them colour coded at the same time it will be less money than if you do it later (as you probably will!). If it makes you feel better, I had my bumper re-painted last year cost 200, and on the way home banged the front lip AGAIN (unavoidable here). Last thing, fix the ramp going into the garage so the angle isn't so steep or you might do it again! Hi, The damage to the bumper is fairly minor, most good bodyshops will be able to repair it. One thing to note is that the bumper may be plastic not fibreglass!! Regards, Phil.
As Phil just mentioned, that is a minor bingle mate. Any good paintshop will fix that quite easily. Wont cost much. Any more pics of your car?
Thats a shame. Would be cool too see it. A new owner should be posting pics of his car everywhere here. I did when I 1st got my 348.
Oh, you know, the bloke with the really dirty 348 that we all feel so sorry for !!! Remember we were going to have a collection to raise enough money for him to get it detailed properly....!
