Utah Spotters Thread

I am not sure if this is a new Christmas present for someone or not. I was driving down 4th North in Logan when a black ferrari 360 or F430 with top down drove by. It was 2 college age kids who were driving. I assumed someone in the valley got a new Christmas present. I went to the steve harris website and couldn't seen anything matching this inventory that was recently sold. I also don't think the big collection has one of these in black. Does it belong to anyone here? Is anyone here crazy enough to let their kids drive with the top down in 20 degree weather?

I don't know all the info, but for a $10 donation you get your choice to have a ride in any of those cars that you pick. For $1 you get entered into a drawing to win a ride. Tomorrow is your last chance. They are supposed to be just south of the TSC patio from 2:30-5:00 on Thursday.

These cars are supposed to be owned by employees of Atlas marketing (the guys who go door-to-door selling stuff like security systems). Although my work buddy doesn't think that these college age guys are actually the owners (could be wrong). He also said while you're riding with them they give you a little recruitment speech to have you come work with them (I don't know if that's true, but if it is I think it's a bit tacky since it's a charity event). But if they really are the owners I think it's cool they took the time to go up here and drive their cars in not-so-great weather. Anyway I think I'll go pay the $10 tomorrow and take a spin in the 430. It's at least worth it to go and take a look if you don't go for a ride.

I'll definitely be there. I will take the vanquish and the F430. I'll donate $30-$40 if I have too.

 

Ok I went around 2:30 today and did not see anything except for an AMG CLS parked there. While we were driving away we saw the Aston driving up 14th. Did you get a chance to see anything today? The guy in charge told me they would be there until about 5:00 today. I guess I'll try back around 4:30.

 

This is what I saw today.

A blue 360 spider, which sounded nice.
A black Aston Martin Vanquish.
A black maserati grandsport, I believe.

They said the F430 went home yesterday. I decided not to participate. If I could've driven, then I would've shelled out some money pretty quickly. I had a chance to follow the 360 and it had a nice sound to it. Definitely not like the F430, but a nice sound. I still think it was my favorite to see the Vanquish. It has such a healthy sound to it.

I asked one of the kids what most people wanted to drive. He said the mercedes and maserati were the most popular. I guess I am just not a mercedes fan. But I don't know why you wouldn't choose the Vanquish or F430?

 

The owners of the cars are definitely the Atlas guys, their office is here in Provo but I am almost positive that they aren't in college. The majority of them are late 20's to early 30's.

 

I was driving to the Jazz game (who somehow choked and lost) and I saw a red 575m going toward Logan in Sardine Canyon. It was a great day to take out the ferrari before cold and snow set in. I also saw a nice black viper convertible with the top down on I-15.

 

Guards red Carrera GT in the Jamestown office complex here in Provo.

 

I didn't spot this one personally, but it's a silver Carrera GT on the Miller track being followed by an S2000. Looks like the GT picked up a little bit of dirt on the tires which in turn caused him to lose some traction right after that.

December 30, 2006-

I was driving around 4500 N. and State street in Salt Lake when I saw a beautiful blue either F430 or modena. It was pretty dark at the time so I didn't get a great look at it. But I a ferrari is still easy to pick out, even at night.

 

A red 599 GTB, a black Enzo and lots of other cool stuff.

 

In the Valet at the Gateway there was a red f430 spyder, Mclaren SLR, M5, multiple AMG's, several Porshe Turbos...

It was pretty intense to see so many nice cars all at the same place, in Utah.
