Today I received a parking ticket for an expired meter. There wasn't a meter. I didn't even think about it but I should have taken a picture. It probably wouldn't help though. $20 ticket for not doing anything wrong, yet another reason for me to stay out of the city.
That doesn't even make sense, but it also doesn't surprise me that they would give you a ticket anyways. As they say, there is a special place reserved in hell for meter maids...
There were meters down the street. The cars behind me were parked at meters but there was a long section of curb where I was parked that was not marked as a zone I could not park in and there were no meters.
LOL, you got screwed I got towed a couple months ago literally for no reason, it was absurd. Of course in order to fight the ticket I would have to write in a request, then wait a minimum of 90s for the initial response. It is a joke.
What was he thinking? Yeah I'd probably have to fight that one. . . though it'd make more economic sense just to pay it. You can pay them online, right?
Yeah you can pay online, Thats what I'll probably do. I wish I knew if it would give me a printable receipt or something to prove I paid it. It is a rental car that got the ticket. I wonder what will happen if I ignore it. Hertz will probably send someone after me in six months. On the ticket are other $20 offenses such as parking in a "no parking anytime" spot. If I knew I would just get the ticket and not towed that may be a good way to get decent parking around the quarter for $20
They can also decline to rent to you in the future. I'd check their policies, too - some rental car companies assess their own fees for any tickets, parking tickets included, received in their car.
