Just wondering how many other nut cases there are like me who track this group of cars.

I have a pretty good database of the 400/400i/412 and GT4's

Dave, glad you started a new thread! I was getting a little concerned with the relative inactivity over the last 2 days. It was killing me.

I've only got the list that you gave me.

Yes, the thread has been turgid. Actually, the thread was stopped. My car's vin 23613. Last owner told me it belonged to George Hamilton! Perhaps this one is in your database. On unrelated note, I'm considering a new thread entitled, 'Glue And Bill's 400A.' Man, for the mechanically inept, superglue is a life saver.

23613 isn't even on my list.

Can I have the particulars? year, color exterior/interior, auto/5-speed, etc, etc

I don't have 23613 on my list either. However, you list your 400A on your profile as a 1980, but my sense is that the correct year of production would be 1978. I have the switchover to the injected 400i series starting in 1979 with s/n 27075.

It's black, auto, sold to me as an '80. Gauges in kilometers, bought by me in Calif., though I can track its history to Texas in the mid to early 90s. Upholstery is that peanut butter color leather with black vertical inserts.

Dave, where have you compiled this list from? Just folks sending you their serial numbers, or from some database out there somewhere? Do you list old and current owners and their addresses?

So, when are you guys setting up a 365/400/412 registry? Kerry has a nice one for 330s and one was just started for PF Coupes (see the thread in the vintage section).

    Art S.

Art, as you probably know, there is a 400 registry already (http://www.400register.com/), based in the UK. There is some great stuff on it, but it doesn't seem to have been updated in a long while. It would be nice to work with the site owner to add more stuff to it.

    Hi Peter,

I've been keeping a s/n-database on all Ferraris worldwide for over 15 years now. Your car was completely new for me, thanks!

    Ciao,

    Dave and Others,

    A little help. #19353

I know the previous owner bought it at the Barrett in 1992, but I would love to know the history from the Paris Car Show in '76 to '92. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, the motor is #0006. If it's the first one, what happened to 1-5?

    Bill

In my database, I have a note on s/n 19353 saying that it was anthracite/dark red in 1984 and dark red/dark red in 2004. It would be interesting to see one or more current pics of this car, do you think this might be possible?

    Thanks and ciao,

    Lars T.

The original color from Ferrari was Grigio Mahmoud.
Current color is prugna, or something close.
