That's too bad. If they don't choose to get clean it's inevitable. Hopefully the guy now finds peace with himself.

Sad to hear. I have a friend who had a friend that was in great shape. He had a good job. PLENTY of money. What he didn't earn from his good job, he still had plenty from inheiritance. House and car paid for. The car was a new Corvette. No bills. Then he got into crack and meth. Long story short. The leaches, (his fellow druggies), started hanging out at his house until the money was all gone. He sold the car for drug money. Used his utility money for drugs. All his utilities were cut off. Living in a dark house. Started selling off every little thing for drug money. Eventually got caught and sent to prison for a year or so. Died of a heart attack in prison.

Very sad. Seeing as how he was your best friend, I'm sure you tried everything you could throughout the years. It is a very difficult task to deal with... lot's of disappointment along the way.

28 years old, i'm sorry to hear about this, my condolences.

 

Sorry to hear about that my friend.

My aunt passed away a few years back as a result of her alchoholism. She would down a 40oz bottle of brandy every day (and sometimes every other day) One day (while pissed drunk) she fell down a flight of stairs and died from her injuries. A sad end to a sad life.

 

Had the same kind of thing happen to my best friend on Easter Sunday 2005. He had everything but also had a coke and heroin problem. If you saw this guy, you would have never known - clean cut, well-dressed. He died in his office on a Saturday night. Someone was there with him when it happened, too, and she waited hours to call for help (because she was a junkie herself). He had turned 35 a week earlier. I haven't been the same since.

Hopefully you'll get past this...it sucks and affects you. My condolences.

Matt, sorry to hear about your loss. My wife's best friend's brother died in December at 31 years old of a drug overdose and even though I didn't know her brother his funeral was very traumatic for me. I wish you the best in getting through this.
