What was the first galvanized model that would be less susceptible to rust?

    328?

They started rustproofing in 1992 with the introduction of the 512TR.

    My 1991 TR didn't have it :(

IIRC 1983 is when they started rustproofing the frames, with that gooey tar like material. My '83 is not galvanized steel.

328 is made of galvanized steel, as were 308s in 84-85. It is rust resistant, but an extremely hostile environment can still rust the car

    Yes and yes.

I had rust problems on the TR on the driver's door intake duct, the chassis behind the front bumper, on the underside and different pieces inside the engine bay. All taken care of now, but all aforementioned rust was present when the car was barely 8 years old.

Ferrari started rust proofing the year after the car you're about to buy was made! :)

If not it was ordered with out but I would have to see to believe. Is the entire undercarrige the same color as the car?

I went to Ferrari undercoating school in 1985 or 6 and it was old news then. I have never ever seen a car built since about 82 or so without it.

In New York after this time you are lucky to have a car left. Prior to rust proofing they would turn into an iron oxide exhibit in Arizona.

Hey, all I had to do was not spend too much time sleeping and I got paid.

Even got a good lunch and a couple of drinks out of the deal.

Really stupid, mindless schools were bonuses for not being a srewup.
