Haha yes, I was about to talk about those two in particular the Bondcar. But aren't they based on the Ferrari 250GTO? The Japs then were the best "copycats" but like my lecturer said. When the Japs copy a design, they make it better but when the Chinese copy, they make it poorer because they are a stingy lot when it comes to commitment, quality & material. Lucky I'm not a full blood Chinaman.

Eg. the Nikon Ss & Canon were far more advanced & better cameras than the then Leica Ms as well.

Aiyo, don't get so sore leh. I did say this is a forum & we're all entitled our own opinions. I personally like the 360 as well, the curves are so beautiful & so what if they made so many of them. That's the testament of how reliable & popular it is.

Speaking of which isn't a Japanese the chief designer @ Pininfarina who was responsible for a few important Ferrari cars? & that the new Lambos are responsible by a 30+ Belgian. It's a global society now mate ;)

Big diff - when we call Datsun 120A a classic, we mean it as a joke - that's just one example.

Calling an old car a classic when its not, is an owners' way of raising his own profile as well as the profile of the car. However, when the car does not fit the bill as a classis, then it becomes parody.

Its not as if I am in the minority. Pick up any credible book on Ferrari lore and see what they say about the 348 and Mondial. Frankly, do you think these cars would be this price if it was that good ? A much older car like the 308 GTS (a true classic by public acclaimation) in fact cost as much if not more than the 348 and Mondial.

People like to say the old ways are better as a reaction to change and new tech or because they can only afford an old car.

But really, can it be objectively said that the new 997 911 is a much better car than the old 993s ? That one loves a 993 does not by itself make it better. That's just delusional and intellectually dishonest.

But if the question is was the 993 itself a good car for its time, the answer is yes.

Me sore about the 360 ? really ?I thought it was you sore about the 348 and classic comments - SF - you know I try to be fair in my comments - even if kdk makes a fair comment, I will agree. Unfortunately, not everyone here is prepared to be mature when it comes to sharing views. For some, we must still water down views and follow the lead .. unfortunately, I hear a different drum.

Oh yes, this debate will not end till the sun burns out of gas. Check out the 348/355, mondial section & we'll see. Even the CEO of Ferrari says the 348 is a sorethumb in their books but it kept the factory alive in their darkest hours. But I see at least here that 308s are still cheaper than the rest(2 seaters) with the 328 being strangely overpriced partly due to the simple fact there's so few of it left here.

BTW, I don't mind a 308 for a keeper as it's simple enough to maintain DIY & roadtax friendly while it has all the lines of Pininfarina & sound of a Ferrari V8.

Huh? Me sore about your comments on 348? Then please read my posts again.

Stanley, you can forget about the real 512M. There's only two here & they are worth more than S$400K on paper alone while both are kept by owners who's quite happy with it. Only one 512TR left & not selling either which leaves you with Testas, about 7/8 left & 4/5 daily runners.

    3 348Targas, 1 berlinetta, 1 spider & 1 Koenig version (never for sale)

    3 355Targas, 2 berlinetta, 2/3 spiders

    4 360 berlinetta manual & 1/2 spider manual

These are the cars I know, might be more.

All of these can be daily drivers with the 348 having the lowest bumper which restricts where you go. Some 355 & 348 targas are for sale now, check on the classifieds or some of the owners here & you'll know the prices. Prepare S$10K cash a year for standby on maintenance etc, balance go back to next year or buy yourself a nice watch :D

Are there any QP owners here? If so, how have your cars been doing? Any reliability issues? Our first month hasn't been smooth sailing at all...

Guys...A Car is a car is a car.

A Ferrari, any Ferrari is a Ferrari and same goes for Lambos et all.
I honestly don't care how fast the other Fcars are over what you can afford, be it an Fcar, Pcar,Lcar. New Vs Old? Deffo the new will win but owning these cars, you're already a certified gearhead...unless yer looking down on them 'old' cars which are family. This is no good.... A gearhead you're not, but rather a poser. Buy cars to show off because it's the 'in' thing and nary a feel for the Automobile/Motorcars in general...

Man, I don't even look down on a Datsun 510, which with the proper set of wheels (black 14" Minilite hoops) looks great and handles well too. Heck, the Fairlady Zs were good till they bloated it and the 2000GT were great too but Mr.Toyoda decided against building them a lot because it's almost the same price if not more than an E-Type to make...

Someone can drive a 330km/h vehicle and I may drive a 300km/h one...so what? So what if my 300klicks car is a 1991 model? If the dude in the 330km/h car doesn't appreciate my ride, so be it.

But in this forum at least and also in this section, I do not think any of us here have prejudices against slower/ older cars, Ferraris especially.. I believe all of us here love cars, period. It so happens that some here have more moolah to spend on newer iron/Aluminium or in a better position to do so...good for them and I'm quite 'entertained' by the way they went about doing it.....

To us bystanders here, it doesn't mean them older ones have to be shy or have some sort of Inferiority Complex whatever... I believe everyone's on equal footing once yer in Da Club..ANY Fcar/Lcar/Pcar/Zondacar/Koenigseggcar.. Who knows...the dude that drives the 3X8 could probably buy a frickin' Enzo if he/ she wanted too..

My brothers own two Evos between them and I was spanked many times on the Fraser's route... "I lost in style" was/ is a catchphrase I always use.....! And guess what, my brothers would happily dump their Evos for the Fcar...IF the services/maintenance are paid by someone else...! I run with the Supras/ Skylines and CTRs/ ITRs....learnt a lot from them street racers 10 and more years younger than me and it's not all about power and how fast yer ride is...rather, most if not all Street Racers have something called 'Mutual Respect'. Eg: An RB26DETT GTR-R34 V-Spec owner would never look down on an GTR-R31 RB25DET or an EF6 CTR...

As Fchatters, we should have the same attitude, in spades...
