Organised a group to Kirimaya up in Khao Yai national park on Saturday.

From what I hear everybody had fun and are looking forward for the next event. The start at RCA went well with nearly all those confirming showing up and also coming were some additional Members whom were not on the original list.

As usual the wheels started to roll a bit late, at just a bit past 11am with 40 vehicles, being Ferraris', Lambos' , Porsches', a BMW M5 and a Mini JCW. Everything on the road went well at the start until 5km In 355 couldn't get into gear, at 15km Prapon 512TR loss his left bank of cylinders, at 35km Carl 348 loss break pressure, and at 40km Yee 456 loss god knows what. Arriving at the mid-way point, Prapon 512TR managed to catch up to continue the Sprint after a fast pit-stop at the authorised dealer. Oh, lets not forget Pom Mondial having gear problems after his arrival at Kirimaya.

As planned our video plane joined us right after we had left the mid-way point. It's certain that many of you including me were impressed with the pilot's flying skill since he did come extrememly low manoeuvres on some occasions in order to take the close-up shots. Thanks to our video producer/director Khun Art for the video.

Once we had arrived at Kirimaya there was a delicious lunch buffet served right there where we parked. There was a free flow of our Chianti & Chardonnay and the latest Prosecco. By 3pm the convoy then moved to the designated party area within the golf course, hole number 10. It would have been the first time for many to drive into a golf course on the Kart track. Soon after arriving Members dove into the freshly imported oysters from France. At the end most were forced to have oyster shots. Some made there way to the BBQ and pasta station. Unfortunately, a third of the Members had to leave before seeing Ball 360 sing his tunes on stage.

Awesome shots guys. Seems like a great event.

Glad to see you guys are so active. I would presume one of the more active chapters in Asia.

Keep up those runs, and keep sharing those lovely pics.

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry I couldn't make it to Kirimaya! I had to turn back to BKK to joining family's lunch meeting. BTW, driving along you guys on the tollway was just fun. It was managing my beloved F355B running not less than 100kms, good exercise for my baby!! Great sprint really!!

Next time I would arrange the schedule to the whole round trip with our FCT group as usual.

    Cheers,

Not that long, we had skilled lead & chase ponies managing the convoy up to Kirimaya. The way back was different, I felt as though people were running the Le Mans....

I don't know about others but I do it so my engine cools off faster as it runs very hot after a hard drive.

That is correct. The heat generated is immense and popping the hood once you stop after a hard drive is rudimentary to aid cooling, not so because the motor can't handle the heat, rather to ensure all the ancillaries and rubber/plastic bits lasts longer....

You're absolutely right, we were pushing the cars hard all the way up to Kirimaya for the 180 km journey. When we're out on a Sprint it's regular to see the lead car being forced to hold back the formation at no more than 200 - 220km/h. With 40 cars travelling in convoy the distance between the front and back cars could range between 4 - 6 kms.

The showing of engines takes place at the begining of the Sprint, but once you've seen one, the rest are the same.

Bravo, we were not exactly doing city driving but completing a decent distance at high speed with lot's of hard driving avoiding the rest of the traffic on the way. Too bad we can't show you the video taken by the onboard camera on the M5.

Good point...............by the way since you're a fellow Ferrari fanatic maybe you'll appreciate a copy of our Club's dvd which we produce ourselves annually, how do I get a copy to you?. It's the first time a F-club has done such a thing. Once you get it please do promise to watch it with other F-chatters in Singapore and provide comments. It contains footage of 2006 activities and a series of short films with funky music.

For your information Jean Todt thinks that it deserves the Ferrari Oscar after I watched it with him
